I totally agree with you on TOBS cream. Their soap is not much better either for me.

    Tuesday!

    Muhle R106
    Vulfix 404
    MWF
    Captains Choice CoNT
    Proraso balm

The Fat was giving me some serious issues this morning. It wasn't liking the 404 I guess. Anyway I eventually got nice slick lather and enjoyed the rest of my shave.

And.....man I love the burn from the CoNT!!!

Outstanding shave today! In my 29 years of shaving with carts I never once achieved a shave this close and irritation free!

I just had the smoothest shave I've ever had so far in my 4 years of wet shaving:

    HIS Synthetic
    Proraso red cream
    Lord L5
    Personna Lab.

This is the first time I use the Labs. IMO it is far superior to the Lord blades(all of them), IP/Crystal, Derby, Dorco, and Astra SP. Very sharp and also very comfortable with no tugging or irritation. I can't wait to try them in my Fatip!

Good shave this morning, second shave with Green Mountain. Still crazy busy at work but it should start slowing down next week. Have a good one.

    Wednesday:

Prep: Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, Hot shower, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Cream: Speick
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Voskhod (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (6,7)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH (not pictured), Speick AS Lotion
    Cologne: Burberry Brit by Burberry

I know folks talk about the FaTip Piccolo's handle being too small, but the combination of my small hands and learning to DE shave with the 41c's almost identically sized handle made it not a big deal for me so far (still looking at a UFO handle, though). The Simpson really does have nice backbone and softness to it. Lather was as slick and thick as I could hope for, but my issues with the Voskhod reared up again, as the 3rd day with the blade was apparently too much, and the blade started to tug and nip at me in the XTG pass. Luckily, the Speick aftershave's storied healing properties are not exaggerated, leaving me with a 2-pass DFS. I'll swap the blade for the Bic with which I started the week in my Merkur 41c tomorrow, and see how I like the Bic/FaTip match.

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Spice Bath Soap
    Soap: Super-Max Ultimate Lemon-Lime Cream
    Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim “6”
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip Badger 22x48
    Aftershave: Krampert’s Frostbite

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

1st shave with the Astra SP in the Slim. I used the Super-Max Ultimate Lemon-Lime cream today (no longer available as far as I can tell). The Classic, which is made in Bulgaria, is still produced, and I hope a better product. The lather was weak, but I got a good shave with one nick on my chin. I finished with Krampert’s Frostbite to keep the lime going.

It was a great shave. The fat handled tech is exactly what I needed. Paired with the wilkinson blade, it was a smooth shave!

Cream: KMF Cool Mint + 3 drops TSD M Bomb

Post: Cold water rinse, Osage Rub, Brut Attitude, hand strop blade

    Wednesday:
    hot shower
    Homemade PSO
    Gem Micromatic 3 passes
    Gem (1)
    VDH boar
Musgo Real Classic scent cream (sample) in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
Musgo Real Classic scent cologne (sample)

First time with the Gem Micromatic and I got a pretty decent shave using a fresh blade. The Musgo cream produced a very nice lather and the scent is true to it's name. Not sure if it's the lack of humidity but I did notice it seemed to be a bit drying on my skin.

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Cream
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade: Polsilver SI (3)
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    Brush: VDH Boar
Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea for Men Sensitive ASB
    Cologne: British Sterling

BBS shave everywhere except above my upper lip. I guess I used too much pressure, but I nicked myself in about 4 places this morning. I've never done that in 35 years of shaving that I can remember. Oh well, it was a very good shave overall.

    Have a great day!

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: Weishi 9306
    Blade: Astra SP (day 4)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Cream: Musgo Real Classic
    Passes: 2 (WTG x2, XTG)
    Post: cold water

It's days like today that almost make me miss having a full beard, time to break out the scarf!
DFS today. I ended up using more shave cream then I normally would, and was nicely rewarded. Absolutely no irritation or nicks. I was also using shorter strokes instead of long smooth strokes, not sure if that helped or not.
now that I'm at work I find my face a bit dry, probably should have finished with the Proraso blue...

    Ten Shaves: day five

Prep: warm face wash with Shea Moisture African Black Soap Scrub
    PSO: Shea Moisture Beard Softener
    Soap: LA Shavings Woody Lavender
    Brush: HIS Synthetic
    Razor: Maggard MR10
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Sharp Edge Yellow
    Post: cold water rinse
AS: Shea Moisture Aftershave Elixir, Proraso PSC

A nice easy DFS, but with some burn appearing later. I think the pso made the razor glide comfortably, but maybe too much, as it gave me the hubris to make an extra pass. Lesson: do not chase BBS! I had to apply Proraso about 20 minutes after my shave to put out the fire.

I'm really loving this MITA soap because not only does it smell fantastic, it also delivers great lather and skincare. My man Ryan was 1,000% correct about this soap being so good. Yes, it loves water but that's no problem. Another thing about it is it has a VERY strong menthol effect which you could get frozen out by during the 2nd pass. The Svoboda balm is so cooling and soothing and I owe myself more splashes with the Skin Bracer because it's such a good aftershave. This shave was even better than yesterday's, which was also excellent! ;) :D

    WEDNESDAY
    Day 3 of Cream Week

Pre: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub, homemade Citrus PSO
    Razor: Böker 5/8
    Strop: WD 3" 'Rich Man'
    Brush: Semogue 1305 'Italian Tricolore'
Lather: Pacific Shaving Co. cream; Scuttle-warmed
Shave: Two passes, plus touch-up with a DE razor
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, 4711 Aftershave, Shea balm
    Pain Meds: 800mg Ibuprofun

Pacific cream is on the lower end of the price scale, but it is one of those products that delivers a wonderfully smooth, slick lather; 3x better than the TOBS cream from yesterday.
My first time stropping a razor—not easy doing it mostly with one hand—but afterwards the blade felt great on my face. A BBS shave in most places; but I still need work in my tougher spots. One day at a time…
