I've "heard" that a gallon or two of white lightnin' has been made in Floyd County. I haven't read the book, but I have a copy of "Lawless." If you enjoy reading, check out "The Great Moonshine Conspiracy Trial of 1935," which was written by a relative of mine.
Concerning the jugs in question...they were possibly made by my kin. Eerr at least I "heard" they had knowledge of a possible distilling operation. I will look that book up. What's the authors' name?
My father has told me several times that grandad told him that he could see the smoke fom 5 different stills from his front porch when he was young. (My parents live in that same house now) T. Keister Greer

Ashland? I lived there in '88 and worked at Kings Dominion. Love that area, or rather love it like it was then. Haven't been that way in years.
Very little in Ashland has changed. Btw, I was the first ride foreman on the Rebel Yell roller coaster when KD first opened!
Really? I remember our middle school 8th grade class going to KD the last week of school and riding the Rebel Yell over and over and over - it was the inaugural year of the Yell, and being a week day in the spring, we were able to ride it, get back in line, and ride again on the next run. Great day!
