Wanted to try something new and ran across a "buy two get one deal" on C.O. Bigelow shaving cream at Bed Bath and Beyond (just to be completely clear I was following my wife around in there) It's the first cream I've tried but I like it a lot. It creates a thick lather without even hardly trying. The scent isn't the best in the world (sort of a chemical smell) but the lather, the application and the during shave performance are excellent (in my limited experience). Really like it and think I'll be working my way through all 3 tubes. Anyone else tried it? What do you think?
I have recently found it too. I have enjoyed mixing it with vdh or Williams. I enjoy the menthol component to it as well.
It's a decent cream, especially when you are able to pick up the bargain. Sometimes you can even score a coupon as well to make it a better deal. It is rebranded Proraso.
It's one of my favorites. You can pay more and get less for sure. I saw they had the sale going on this weekend and it took some restraint to keep from buying 3 more tubes. I've still got one and a half left which will easily last me until the next sale though. It seems like they have that sale every month or two.
It's my favorite cream. I use it at least 3 times a week. As you say, it is easy to lather and gives plenty of protection.
That was my understanding. If so, then in my estimation and experience, it qualifies as a decent cream.
Amazing Cream, what I first started shaving with, don't feel bad about going into body shops of any kind if there is a deal to be had for creams or soaps haha you will go anywhere!... almost anywhere...
I like the C. O. Bigelow cream. Another locally available cream is Maca Root Shave Cream from The Body Shop. I use mostly soaps, but keep those two creams in my rotation.
Yeah, I make that mistake too. It's difficult to keep Bath and Body Works (CO Bigelow), Bed Bath and Beyond and The Body Shop (Maca Root shave cream) straight in my head.
I was using C.O.Bigelow before I even started using a DE Razor. Great cream and I really enjoy the scent.
It is according to the label and I would agree based on my personal comparison to the Proraso Green in the tube. A cream I use in the warmer months.
I agree. After using this several time, the cream does seem to dry in the scuttle a bit more than some of my others. I have had to add a bit more water after letting it set for a couple minutes, but this doesn't bother me too much. Love the smell and the lather always explodes in the brush.....I'm willing to rehydrate it once to get those benefits.
Bigelow is the old Proraso formula. It's an excellent cream and a great buy when Bath and Body Works is running their "buy two, get one free" sale.
