1. In the process of reading "I Am Legend". It's not much like the movie but very good. As always, I wish I had read the book before seeing the movie. You guys make me want to re-read the Hitchhikers Guide series. It's been years.
  2. After you read it, you might want to read up on some of the pre-release ideas they had for the "I Am Legend" movie.

  3. I suppose there are two approaches: See the movie first, then read the book, or Read the book, then see the movie. My take on it is this: If one sees and enjoys the movie first, then reading the book can enhance the overall story experience. Greater detail, plus plot and character development are usually more substantial in written form. If one reads the book first and thoroughly enjoys it, invariably most attempts to translate the story to the big screen fall short. This doesn't mean one can't still enjoy both versions ('To Kill a Mockingbird' for example), but I'm often disappointed by the screen adaptations.

  11. I'm at the beginning of book 10 of Robert Jordan's wheel of time series. I forget the title. I was unimpressed when I started book 1, and I'm still not an uber fan, but I do confess to becoming quite addicted.
  12. I'm reading The Five Points by Tyler Anbinder. Gotta learn about my Irish background

  13. I'm reading a number of things - I've always been a "multitask" reader. Right now I'm reading The Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell (had to get it after watching the movie), The Constitutional Convention: A Narrative History From the Notes of James Madison, and Darwin's Black Box by Michael Behe. My reading is extremely eclectic, but I love history, politics, and great novels.
  14. Science Fiction guy myself, love the classic Authors, Roger Zelazny, Robert Howard, etc.
