Didn't bought too much stuff this year anyway, so only two things I regret :

    1. Proraso pre/after shave sensitive cream. It's nice but I didn't saw any difference when used in prep phase.

    2. PannaCreama San Francesco shaving soap. I can't lather it, no matter what kind of brush/water ratio I use. Tried in bowl, tried facelathering, tried everything, no luck.

Well maybe not all this year, but here's my 3 regrets:
-Arko: can't stand the scent and left my face pretty dry.
-RazoRock Jaws OC: my face didn't really like the OC experience. Even with a week's growth.
-Something called Urban Cowboy Dusk shave soap, if my memory is correct. Great scent (matter of fact it ended up being a shower soap), but I couldn't lather it if my life depended on it!

That's it! Everything else I've tried I liked or loved it my only other regret is not having enough money and time to try everything else that's out there! ;)

Herban Cowboy? I think that's it because I had a similar experience. Smelled great and I used it for shower soap too, but you have a better shot at getting lather from pure water. It is junk.

I had no regrets this year but mainly because I showed restraint. I think the only shaving related thing I bought was some of the AV cool sport AS or whatever it is called, and I like it.

I did have a huge win on a purchase this year now that I think of it, Pinaud Lime Sec, which I love, and Sandahl's Lucky Tiger vanishing cream. The vanishing cream is a new addition to my routine and is aptly named. Neat stuff.

Early last year, I picked up a wooden tub of DR Harris soap.
The first few months of shaves we're decent using the product, but as my soap inventory expanded and I had a greater variety of soaps and creams in the rotation, the DR Harris just didn't live up to what some many of the other soaps brought: great mounds of slick, lubricating lather that were relatively easy to generate. So with regard to the DRHarris, it's more disappointment than regret as I had high hopes for the product. I'll eventually use the rest of the DRHarris up, but there are too many other fine soaps to use in it's place.

    • FaTip—I've read so many good things from Fatip users, and so picked up a Piccolo. Excellent shaver. Cheap cost of entry. But the finish left a lot to be desired. The plating was quite rough around the edges, and a discernible 'ring' formed on the cap where the threaded stem attached. I sold it for slightly less than I bought it for, and although it wasn't a BAD razor, the poor finish on the FaTip gave me some regrets about pursuing it.

•Aqua Velva Ice Blue : What was I thinking? It smell like…Aqua Velva. Cheap to buy. Smells like something that cost little.
Had a moment of weakness while in the the shaving section of CVS and grabbed a bottle of the blue stuff on sale. Used it once, that was enough.

Fatip (with Bulldog handle) & DRHarris soap...

It was really a collection of things about the Williams. I'm always for saving a buck and when you find something that performs well on the cheap it seems like an added bonus. I really didn't like the scent, smelled musty to me, but scent is subjective...I like Arko and Tabac sooooo. Didn't feel that it cushioned well, and left my face dry. Also it took what seemed like great effort from me to lather well...I watched the videos and read the posts etc. So even though it's price point was attractive, it didn't offer enough positive benefits for me to find it desirable enough to warrant purchasing it again. I had resolved to never buy it in the first place due to all of the bad comments about it, but my 92 year old uncle said it was always his favorite soap, so I decided to give it a go. Of course that was probably in the 50's, 60's, and 70's so it may have been an all together different soap then.

Vintage Williams and Current Williams have different ingredient mixes that make them in my opinion different soaps.

I use Current Williams primarily as a great brush defunker and I have Vintage Williams that I like to use from time to time.

One person agrees about treating it as nectar ...

So what three items do you regret?

    1) Shea Butter and African Black Shave Soap - this stuff is horrible. It smells bad and provides no cushion.

    2) Merkur 39c Slant Razor - It's not that that it's a bad razor, but for me it doesn't come close to living up to the hype.

I think mine are pretty easy.

1.) Just picked up a Satin Merkur Futur and just don't think I like it. Got it for a good price but just doesn't do as well as my mergress.Need to find a new home for it now!
2.) RB mug with really rounded edges that just beats the b-jesus out of my knuckles and brushes.
3.) 3P shave soap. Didn't pay much so not a huge deal but really don't like it!

I'm with you on the shave factory de, mine the doors are misaligned

And derbys maybe bad but I seriously think I'm allergic to dorcos, my entire beard and neck area broke out in hives for about two hours almost immediately after shaving

So now I've got nine of those that I wouldn't give away just out respect for my fellow man

Ha ha, go figure. If there is anything I've learned about all this it's that what works for one person totally doesn't for another. That's just the name of the game :)
