1. Sorry, about that. I don't know how I did that. Old age, I guess.

It was another fine shave with the Williams Mug Shaving Soap. My favorite boar brush, the Semogue 1305, did an excellent job of face-lathering. Two pass is all it took with the Schick M adjustable to make me smooth, clean, and refreshed. I finished off with a cold water rinse followed by Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. Aaahh!

Brrrrrrrrrr, I'm still freezing and my eyes are still tearing a little after this awesome face-freezing shave. This Ingram Extra Cool cream from Egypt is DEFINITELY a match for Palmolive Menthol or Godrej Menthol Mist as far as cooling power is concerned. It gives the same great lather and nice scent and it's also very moisturizing. I've said this many times - it's hard to beat the Anherb conditioner for post-shave care, and the Rubby Dubby Doo is ultra-powerfully frigid and nice. Sorry for not showing pictures today. ;) :D

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Nuka Menthol Cream-Bulgaria
    Razor: British Gillette Slim Twist
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
    Aftershave: Barbon-Hungary

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

This was the first time I tried my Gillette Slim Twist which I received as a Christmas gift. I loaded it up with a Gillette Silver Blue. I also got to try the Nuka Menthol Cream today for the first time. This is the house brand for Bio-Fresh, makers of Rose of Bulgaria products. The Nuka instantly produced volumes of smooth, cushioning lather with a nice fresh scent. I could not detect the menthol though. I didn’t know what to expect from the Slim Twist with its light weight plastic handle. It was a pleasant surprise. The handle put the weight at the head and made it very intuitive to shave with. I had a great smooth and close shave. I finished with my Barbon menthol AS from Hungary.

    Great start to the weekend.

  9. Saturday:
    hot shower
    Taconic unscented PSO
    Parker 80R 2+ passes
    Astra Superior Stainless (5)
    Semogue badger
D R Harris Windsor cream in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    English Leather Black Cologne (sample)

Shave number 5 with this Astra SS and a good finish to a 5 shave test. Shave numbers 3 and 4 were probably the best. This blade pairs very well with my Parker so it will be interesting to compare it to the Astra SP which is up next.
Whipped up a fine lather with the Windsor and was enjoying the scent when I was abruptly introduced to what a brand new badger brush smells like. The feel was fantastic but now I know firsthand what everyone is talking about regards de-stinking a brush.
This was the first time using the D R Harris Windsor so I wasn't sure what smelly to finish with but after the experience with my new brush I lost all sense of what anything else smelled like so I tried a splash of English Leather Black for the first time that I picked up in a Christmas sample kit I found at the store.

This razor seems to be a bit special to me, excellent shaver and very comfortable to use. Maybe it's because it's new, I just don't know but I like it. If anyone has any info on these razors let me know because I can't find much other than it's French. Have a good one.

  13. SATURDAY

Prep: hot shower, Shea Moisture Facial scrub, Homemade Citrus PSO
Razor: Merkur Futur; set @ 4
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Lather: Stirling 'Frozen Tundra'
    Shave: 2-pass w/ touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, alum block, Osage Rub, 444 Menthol balm

I discovered that 'stropping' an SR is a rather painful experience currently with the CTS in my left hand, so after several days of it, I needed to switch back to DE razors for a while.
The Futur is such an easy, yet aggressive, razor to use; noisy & efficient. A 2-pass near BBS shave.
Between the Frozen Tundra soap, Osage Rub & the 444, my face feels near frozen! Jeff (Crackstar) would be proud! ;)
    Enjoy the weekend, all!

  18. Thanks!

I purchased the handle from someone in Israel and then ordered the HMB directly from China. It has a wonderful backbone but very soft tips. I also made one as a backup and a buddy keeps bugging me to sell it but have resisted from selling for five months now.
