So what'cha got planned? For me and my wife, it's just another night. We'll be in bed by 10:00. But what about the rest of you? Times Square? Big Bash? Please, be safe. We wanna see ya around next year! Be the life of the party - be a designated driver.
I haven't seen midnight in a loonnngggg time. We do have a bottle of champagne, probably have it for brunch New Years Day. Happy New Years my TSD family.
The wife and I are close friends with one of our neighbors. They always have a party so we will walk over there. Probably have something to eat, a glass of wine or two, visit and be back here by 10:00. We will then celebrate the New Year together.
I have no idea. Probably have a few beers and watch movies in the safety of my bedroom with my guard dogs.
My Girlfriend and me are celebrating with 15-16 peoples in a friends house. Having a few beers, some good foods and the TV Program. So,have yourself a Happy and Healthy New Year. Greetings Thorsten
I just plan on staying home and staying sober. -I'm a sober Alcoholic so I'll be at home on the computer with you guys!
Thank you my friend! Celebrated one year in November. Sobriety is something I work very hard on-every day. I only mention alcoholism (every chance I get) because there are so many suffering from it needlessly. They need to hear that addiction can be beat.
My wife and I are definite morning people (usually up by 5:30-6); our sons are not. Essentially what this means is we're in bed early (before 11) most nights, and the guys are up until around 2-3:00am. This will change TONIGHT as we're having some friends over for hors d'oeurves, a nice dinner, and perhaps some bubbly around the midnight hour. No travel, just a quiet celebration with friends & family, anticipating a more fruitful year ahead.
Congrats on your sobriety. Alcoholism runs on both sides of my family. I was on my way for awhile, but cut back on the drinking.
Nothing crazy. I think I am going to let the kids stay up till 10:00 so we can watch midnight on the east coast on TV. After that I think a beer or two in the comfort/safety of my couch while I wait for midnight here. Anybody who is driving please be safe and careful. Even if you have a DD or take a cab others might not have done the same.
Even though I too am a sober alcoholic, it doesn't matter that much, I'm in bed by 10:00 every night. No bubbly for me since 1997. My wife tries to stay up but she doesn't make it most years, sometimes she sleeps right though it and then wakes up an hour or so later. Always pisses her off when that happens.
I'm not big on alcohol, only have 6 beers a year on average. The thought of being out on a night with crazy people with large amounts being consumed doesn't interest me in the least. I'll be home ringing in the year in a comfy pair of sweats and a glass of iced sweet tea.
Pjs, a bit of bourbon with the boyfriend, and video games...so most any night I'm not actively in school. Just seems like any other day, and loud, crazy parties have never really been my thing. I might make it to midnight before I hit the hay, though.
A quiet evening at home with the hubby. We never make it to midnight, so at some point we figure it must be midnight somewhere. Then we have a little champagne toast & go to bed. Tomorrow, we will go to the archery range.
Sushi, lots of sushi. As a kid I remember my dad always having oyster stew (mom didn't like it) but somehow the wife and I got in the habit of having sushi on New Years several years ago so most years we have an early dinner (before the crowd) and make it safely home well before 10:00pm and this year before 8:00pm. For tonight's feast we shared 18 assorted pieces of sashimi, 12 pieces of assorted sushi, and a white Christmas roll.
Glad you made it back safely Gary. Coincidentally, I am currently listening to you talk about Brushes on a podcast.
