With a set-up like this a menthol lover like myself can't possibly go wrong. The L'Oreal facial wash is plenty cooling - my advice is to leave it on your face for a couple of minutes while you brush your teeth. The Proraso Crema Pre Barba puts the first icy coating in your face and by the time you start lathering up with the Green cream you'll be shivering. A nice cold water rinse followed by the Anherb conditioner and a splash or two of the Rubby Dubby Doo and your teeth will be chattering! ;) :D

Hot shower with face washed in L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energy.
Gillette Tech Aluminium Handle coupled with Viking's Sword (4).
    Arko Ice Mint SC.
    Bestshave #6 boar.
    3 passes, growth adjusted.
    Ajanta alum.
Nivea for Men Sensitive after shave balm.

I decided today was going to be cheap and low on scent. But my memory must fail me - mentholated products with this cold weather and the icy cold water from the faucet.. yikes!! Should have remembered last time :D But oh man what a good shave. I can't pinpoint any fault with the products. It proves that a good shave does not have to be expensive. If it wasn't for diversity (and the cold water!!!) I could easily live with these products everyday.

    Have a great monday!

    Moon's Day:

Prep: Hot compress, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave Lotion
Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger :love055:
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grapefruit Mint Glycerin-in-a-jar
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (3, 4)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS Splash

It was all going so well. Face lathering with the Simpson was a joy, producing very nice, slick lather for my foundation. The first pass was smooth as silk. Then, either through a lapse in concentration or a tremor - or both - my razor slipped badly on the XTG pass and I caught my upper lip. . . not the mustache line but the actual start of the lip itselt. It bled enough to preempt an ATG pass and to prompt me to reach for the Speick, which has better healing properties than the Lucky Tiger Menthol balm I would otherwise pick on a Monday. DFS for two passes, though, with no other irritation or injury.

    Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki
    Blade: Feather (day 5)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Cream: Musgo Real Classic
    Passes: 3 (WTG x2, XTG)
    Post: cold water, Proraso blue

Both Friday's and Saturday's shave left me with some nicks and razor burn. I skipped a shave on Sunday and only did one pass on my neck today to give myself a chance to heal up. My face ended up nice and smooth, but the single pass on my neck is going to bug me most of the day. No cuts though so I can't complain too much.

-40 with the wind chill, probably should have tried to grow my beard out... not looking forward to waiting for the bus today.

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain
    Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim β€œ6”
    Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (2)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
    Aftershave: Osage Rub

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle a bit for my beard)

I tried my sample puck of Stirling Ozark Mountain today. I have used the Ozark Mountain bath soap and already knew I liked the scent. Great lather, great shave. The Slim and the Perma-Sharp are still good friends. I finished with a blast of Osage rub!

Wonderful BBS shave this morning. It don't think it could have been any better for my first day back at work since December 20. It's actually good to be back. That's be most time I've ever taken off at one time in my life and it was almost too long.

    Have a great day!

    Monday:
    hot shower
    ShaveSecret PSO
    Frog straight 1 pass (almost)
    StickSchick 2 passes
    Personna Platinum Chrome (1)
    Semogue Owners Club badger
VDH Luxury scented soap in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    Alum
    Canoe cologne splash (sample)

2nd shave with a straight and 1st shave with the Frog. Work day today so it was probably good that I didn't have time to try to do my whole shave with a straight like I did on New Years (and ended up with some damage). Not to mention I couldn't wait to take my new StickSchick out for a spin. Did most of my first pass with the Frog but avoided the very bottom of my neck and didn't get too close to the ears.

And then... my best shave to date with a SE! I don't know if it's the razor or if I finally got the technique right but I was running through the gears like a pro. That is until I got overconfident, forgot to downshift, and put a tiny little nick right next to my nose on the cheek bump. Either way, a great shave and I just wish I would have bought this razor last fall when I saw it for sale the first time.

Low humidity today! Added extra water to the soap and it still felt a little dry on my skin. Finished up with a Canoe cologne sample that I picked up just before Christmas. Nice scent and not too strong for a cologne. I might pick this up in an aftershave.

VDH Deluxe continues to be a reliable soap. Two face-lathers with the Semogue 1305 boar brush and two passes with the Schick M adjustable left me near BBS. A cold water rinse followed by Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel and Pinaud Clubman AS left me clean, smooth, and refreshed.
