http://shavematerazors.com/titan-all-in-one-razors.html It won't be long until Gillette counterattacks with even more blades... :-/ Found it in this article. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/23/AR2010072305083.html Quote: "ShaveMate is really a lifestyle change" from all that, Lou says. "It's a shaving revolution." Quote end. Dorco has a 6 bladed system http://www.dorcousa.com/sxa1000-6-blade-system-for-men/ Anyone here who have tried these? Maybe compared to the Gillette offers with "only" 5? I'm thinking price vs. quality between the world-known company vs. the little ones.
I really don't get the disdain. I'm sure that shaving cream is world class stuff . If only they would also attach a mirror to the head, then I could shave anywhere, anytime!
Just what the world really, really, needs is another "RIPOFF" razor system with yet another blade!! At least here at TSD we're safe until they finally pay off enough politicians to make single blade sales and shaving with a single blade illegal... Makes me "VERY" happy I own several Rolls Razors as well as some straights..:happy:088:
I've tried the Dorco 6 and 6 + 1 system. They shave pretty well but the blades are so close to each other they are hard to clean. They're not badly priced either, $6 for 4 cartridges with discounts if you buy multiples.
The brothers who invented the titan, didn't invent anything new, there's been a disposable that has foam in the handle since the late 80's or early 90's. I've tried the Dorco 6 blade system. They're sold at Walgreens and do a better job than the Fusion I think.
You really can't have enough blades, but I'd really also need a headlight (preferably noble gas) and a vibrating head. When will they ever listen to me.
Don't tempt Gillette! The blade refills for the 7 blade heads might just be $70.00 a pack! Everyone should just buy a DE and realize how much better one blade is for your skin! The great thing I noticed when I switched to DE and stopped using canned goo was how much tighter and better my face felt.
I'm all for traditional wet shaving, but I do appreciate there are other options than Gillette, for a lower price with equal or better performance. Not that I'd use'em anyway, but I'm not into monopoly whether it's real monopoly or just look-a-likes due to market-shares. I like diversity in choices. My face has never been better since I started DE. Looks healthier and sure feels like it too. I'm sure the brush and better lather plays a part too, but still.
I did find this quote interesting: In his shaving surveys, the majority of his participants respond that they have sensitive skin. But when Sproston observes his clients as they shave, he discovers that the actual number is closer to a piddling 8 percent. What they have is not sensitive skin, but sensitized skin -- irritation brought on by bad habits and bad razors, by a relentless scraping that can, in untrained hands, resemble skin grafting more than shaving.
