Can anyone recommend a way to store my badger brush when I travel so something bad doesnt happen? I'm also in search of a smaller cream/soap and preshave oil to put into my bag. I've made a nice leather case and shave bag for my upcoming trip. I fear the baggage handlers at the airport will break a shave mug and somehow ruin a brush!

For the cream/soap I'd go with a shave stick.

Prescription pill bottles work well if you can find one the right size. A pharmacy may give you one if you ask.

+1. Drill a few holes on each end to help with ventilation.

If you are staying at a Hotel that has a coffee maker in the room, just use one of the extra coffee mugs. I have done this many a time rather than carrying extra stuff.

Personally, I've found that wrapping it well in a few paper towels and then binding the towels with a rubber band makes a rigid enough cover to prevent any problems. I then just pack it between things so it doesn't get thrown around inside the bag. Never had a problem. I even do that taking my kit to the gym where I then have to turn my bag on end to stuff it in a locker. FWIW...

Also, you mentioned preshave oil. I use Shave Secret, which is a pretty small bottle to begin with- about the size of a bottle of Visine.

I recommend you try out face lathering. It's faster and is invigorating to the skin. No need for a mug. You can also stick your brush in a toilet paper roll and then wrap it in a face cloth.
