Where is the best place to buy a real old school razor?

I get most of my "old school" razors off ebay, fleamarkets or from antique stores in my area....:)

Flea markets are great because most venders are selling things they find. Most of them know nothing of razor value. I have gotten several vintage models for less than $1.00

I can't really add any places that have not already been mentioned, but do think that patience is important if you want to get a good deal.

    :happy102:

Thrift shops, second-hand shops & consignments shops can be a good source as well, provided you're in some sort of population center. The pickings can be mighty slim in a small town.

I read one time about a guy who had a friend call him that found a sweet Aristocrat beside a dumpster in the snow. You just never know where to look.

In addition to the already mentioned, let's not forget Etsy. I've found many on Etsy.

Prices there seem just as high as Ebay... Do they at least have the same protections?

I haven't had good luck finding them in thrift stores and flea markets at all (I live in the city it may be different in rural areas). At antique stores they were priced way too high...

Not the same protection, but contrary to eBay there are more sellers willing to ship to Europe, let alone sellers from within Europe (our friend here is from Norway). Also whenever eBay failed to locate me some razors from Europe, Etsy came to my rescue.

It's different for you US people - eBay in your region overflows with vintage razors compared to here.

Its strange... Where all Europeans hairy beasts that didn't shave during the 20th century? There should be just as much.

There are some from UK but they're overpriced and shipping is sometimes very high for no reason. Us in the north, we're vikings so we didn't shave :D
