Tuesday, January 27--Face lather week day 2

Prep--warm wash and PSO
Razor--Gillette Ball End Tech
Blade--Astra Super Platinum (3rd face shave +1 head shave)

Post--warm rinse, cold rinse, CC BR

Today was an odd day. The phone rang at 5:00 a.m. informing us that school would be delayed 2 hours. This allowed me to think of a leisurely shave later in the morning. Alas, the power went off at about 6:15 and the outside temperature was around -8F. I decided to forego a cold shave and went to school at 8:30. The power came back on at 8:45 so classes started at 9:30. My stubble bothered me all day. Home about 4:30 and decided to shave. Face lather and I have a DFS! I think I might have been pushing the blade a bit after 2 face shaves and a full head shave.

 

Thanks buddy. I'm really anxious to see how frigid it is. This way I could compare it to the Glacial.

Sorry about using the Schick Xtreme 3 but I ran out of DE blades and the one I started with was useless.
Guess one of my stops tomorrow is at CVS Pharmacy for more blades.

 

Today's shave.

Prep: hot shower, Cremo Face Wash.
Brush: Turkish #6 Brush.
Razor: '62 Gillette Slim set on 6 for the first pass, 3 for the second pass.
Blade: Personna Lab.
Cream: Palmolive Menthol.
Post: raw shea butter.

Today's shave felt great after working for 10.5 hours. I froze my face with Palmolive Menthol and enjoyed every second of it. I also tried out raw shea butter for the first time. So far, so good my face feels really moisturized, but not too oily or greasy. All around awesome DFS shave.

Sorry to hear that. Mix 1 oz. of Hot Lemon Juice 1 Tbs. Honey (aka Bee Vomit) 1 cup of any Tea, 2 6 oz. Shots of any Good or for that matter cheap Whiskey , if it doesn't kill you or make you wish you were dead it will cure you (don't ask how but I know for sure it works)
You will become as Phil Robertson says Happy Happy.

Getting into the groove
I am learning to love this Old Type! I can get an easy two-pass DFS on my cheeks, but there is still room to learn for my neck. Primarily, it is harder to keep the proper angle on my neck. Today I stopped after two and some touch ups, just to avoid irritation. I still got a small weeper, but that's just the evidence of learning. The Silver Blue blade felt smooth and effective again, but I'm looking forward to using a sharp edge yellow with this razor. Those blades should come in the mail today.
The Synergy soap was amazing again... I'm slowly trading away my other soaps because I just don't see using them much. The Meta Nectar has solidified its place as my favorite scent so far, with Gondolier a close second.

That is a nice looking Mug and I like that brush, by chance could you tell me where you got them. I am kinda new to this with the mugs but I am looking to start getting some and some different soaps. I use VDH set up

 

Another day or I should say that I can't sleep. I will be using my VDH soap and a Schick Xtreme3 razor, and some maybe Stetson Preferred Stock AS.
