I have to be different. I'm an IE guy. Not because I like it but because I have too many tools for my job I use that require it.
Firefox. Check out the Tinseltown skin add on. Puts you in the Holiday spirit. I have also used Opera from time to time.
For those of you that don't know... Seamonkey is firefox, with several other programs built into it. It includes an email client, and a newsgroup reader, and a few other things as well. It's mozilla's (the creators of firefox) internet suite. I haven't used it, but i'd be shocked if it weren't nice.
I used to use Opera until I discovered Firefox. I try to avoid Microsoft products at home, so I use Open Office here. At work it's unavoidable, and I live in Excel, which I think is an amazing package.
I am presently using Firefox 3 Beta 1. Some nice improvements including a true zoom as you find in Opera.
You are quite right sparky, I use Sea Monkey at home and Firefox at work. The main difference is that Sea Monkey has email software integrated with the browser Firefox does not. I use firefox at work becuase I have no need for the email software in with the browser, my company provides MS Mail that does that, at home I need the email software in with the browser so I use Sea Monkey at home. Its real real nice.
Does it have a new email notification built into the browser, or do you have to check manually? Does it work with webmail... hotmail, yahoo, etc?
I beleive the answer to both is yes, it has everythign that you are talking of but I could be wrong. And yes it works with all the services that you mentioned, I have used it with both. My advice sparkie, for what it is worth, is to use Sea Monkey when you need the email right in the software and Firefox when you don't.
I use Firefox, and I've even used Nlite to make a Windows system installation disk with IE removed. This is Nlite: http://nliteos.com/ To get updates for Windows when you don't have IE, you can go here: http://windizupdate.com/
