February 5 - Cold water attempt

Prep: Hot shower and face wash, homemade PSO
    Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable (3)
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SP
    Soap: Cella Crema
Post: Cold rinse and CC C O'9

Tried a cold water shave and I am not impressed. If shaving is supposed to be enjoyable then cold water is not for me. I couldn't get a decent lather after pass 1 so modified and went back to warm water and had good lather for passes 2 and 3 and the neck touchup. Finished the warm up with a sample of Captain's Choice Cat O' 9 Tails.

Yeah, cold water was made for the final rinse. Hot/warm water is the friend of an awesome shave.

(My little friend wanted to shave also. He got a BBS all over, but sadly hurt himself in the process due to a broken TTO and a worn old blade.)

    Prep:
Hot shower, face washed in Bulldog face wash.
    Razor: 2013 Mühle R89
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    Brush: Vie-Long Butterscotch Edition horse.
    Lather: Haslinger Ringelblumen (Marigold) SS
Shave: 3 passes adjusted for grain WTG/XTG/ATG
Post: Alum, cold water and Bulldog ASB

    DFS+++

Very pleasant shave. I'm back on safe ground at the moment. Been trying too many different razors and blades lately, so I think I'll use this razor combo as long as the blade is good for.

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    Williams Mug Shaving Soap
    Parker Pure Badger
    RiMei Three Piece
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless (3)
    CWR
    Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

It was a pretty good shave today. The Williams face lathered well with the Parker pure badger. The RiMei three piece with the Gillette 7OC blade did the job in two passes and some touch ups. The RiMei is a very mild razor. It is almost impossible to cut or nick yourself, so it took a little more effort to get a pretty good shave as opposed to an excellent shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. Feeling good and refreshed. I'll probably save the RiMei for travel.

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: LA Shaving Soap-Woody Lavender
    Razor: Gillette NEW SC
    Blade: Personna Med Prep (3)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip 22mm x 48mm
    Aftershave: Figaro

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

I went back to the LASS Woody Lavender today. Terrible labels, great soap, great scent. Another excellent smooth, close shave with the LASS, Slim, and Med Prep! I finished up with Figaro for a little menthol kick.

    hot shower
    Homemade PSO
    Parker 80R 2 passes
    Crystal Super Platinum (2)
    VDH boar
TOBS Eton College cream (sample) in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with aloe
    Florida Water AS

A very fine shave today. While I don't think I'll ever get a 2 pass BBS from a Crystal blade in this razor, it nonetheless is a very fine blade and definitely gets a high rating. First time with Eton College and I really enjoyed the scent. TOBS creams always perform well for me and the scents always seem to last the entire shave without being overpowering.

Bruce (aka Stroker), you and Angel were on my mind this morning as my little shave buddy sat beside me and complained once again that I filled her sink with water (she likes to curl up in it).
