I just love old things. Which is why I got into this type of shaving in the first place. One of my other hobbies is digging for artifacts. I have a decent arrowhead and tool collection. Some dating back thousands of years. So how would you guys of liked shaving with tools like these? Talk about an aggressive shave. I wouldn't want to put any aftershave splash on after that shave.

    Nope.
I'm sure someone's going to be along to post a video of the guy shaving with a piece of obsidian.

I might consider it with a good mastodon tallow soap...

if that was all that was available, I would still not shave with one of them.

    I would enjoy my beard.

No. I would have to be pretty hard pressed to use one of those.

We'll believe me some are about as sharp as a feather DE blade. And some of them are even thinner then blades. I have cut myself a few times while diggin. But no I don't really think I would shave with then either. But it's neat to know people did shave and cut thier hair with such tools as these.

No, I wouldn't shave with those, but I might trim my beard with one.

Well, why not? I like to try one of these. It's just another razor. So: light touch, short strokes. That kinda thing. Now that's vintage shaving!

Is there no one else who would try this?

Actually obsidian when chipped properly is sharper than a razor blade. I saw a show on PBS several years back of a man skinning a deer he shot and the obsidian blade he used did the job far faster than a skinning knife could do.

I still wouldn't want to shave with one though. Just sayin',

Most of the arrowheads around here are made from agatized (petrified) coralline chert flint. Some of them are very much like glass and clear too.

    That was pretty cool. lol
