My wife and I are saps. We watched Hotel Transylvania last night, and there was a scene where the invisible man was shaving with a DE razor. Needless to say I pointed it out and put it on rewind and frame by frame. Yep... I think it's an obsession.
I've noticed over the years a lot of movies in general when a man is shaving it is often with a DE razor. I believe the film makers think there is an unconscious connection to manliness or ruggedness associated with traditional wetshaving and often use it to help create a stigma around certain characters.
Which razor was it? SB or OC? Was it user grade? If you sold it, how much would you ask? What kind of blade was in it? How many shaves were on the blade? Did the user hand strop the blade? C'mon, Man!!! You're killing me.
Now there's a silly question. He was invisible! How would anyone know if he was stropping on his hand or his forearm?!?
Don't forget the shave scene from Peter Pan. Smee is getting ready to shave Captain Hook and instead lathers and shaves a seagull's behind.
