Supreme Glide Preshave lotion Brush: Beeline Boar Cream: Speick Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (3) Passes: WTG, XTG (6, 7) Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS splash The Speick once again produced spectacular lather for my shave this morning, more than enough for the two passes I took. The results were a DFS with a single weeper on my throat, most likely a result of a combination of the blade starting to wear a bit and my head cold playing havoc with my coordination. Naturally, the alum in the Speick aftershave took care of that with no issues. If the scent were less herbal, I'd probably be even more effusive in my praise for this stuff.

It's not any closer then what I was getting with my tech, but no irritation... That could just be a lack of touch ups, but this might have been the best shave out of the blue lab, too bad it took four shaves.

I haven't used the Gillette 7 o'clock black in some time. Now I remember why. I don't care for them, I had a lot of tugging and a nick on my chin. The Pro 48 holds enough lather for 3-4 passes. Glacial was COLD! Along with Osage and a dab of 444 I'm well protected.
Saturday 2/8/14 Prep: Hot shower Razor: Dovo Shavette Blade: Astra SP (1) Cream: AoS unscented Brush: Muhle Black Fiber Post: Alum, Lucky Tiger AS, AoS Lemon ASB Wasn't going to shave tonight but wanted to test out my new Muhle black fiber synthetic brush. Just used the little tube of AoS unscented cream I was gifted a while ago. I think I used too much cream. At first the brush got too thick with cream, wasn't working well at all. So I took all the lather out twice and washed the brush clean. The second time did the trick and it was working well from there. I forgot I used to hand apply the cream to my face and then come in with a wet brush when I used to have my Muhle STF. So i'm interested to see how this works with my soaps. Once I was all lathered up, I got tempted to get a shave in. Just picked up a Dovo shavette for fun. Used it and had a pretty damn rough shave. Some nicks, some irritation, needed a lot of touch ups. Not sure if I like this shavette as much as my Parker. I think I used too much new/unfamiliar product in one shave. A shave I didn't particularly need (had a good close shave yesterday). So crap shave, face is a little red and beat up. Hate that. O well, it's been a while since I had a shave this bad, can't appreciate a close comfortable shave with out a rough one every now and then.
Saturday, February 8, 2014 Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion Razor: EJ DE89L Blade: Personna Lab Blue (2) Cream: TOBS Shaving Shop Brush: Semogue 830 Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea ASB Aftershave: Pinaud Citrus Musk I've got to get up really early tomorrow morning and won't have time to shave, so I decided to have today's shave this evening rather than this morning. Hopefully, this evening's BBS will hold me over through tomorrow. I don't think I've ever had a bad shave when using the Personna Lab Blue blade or any TOBS cream. When you put the two of them together, the shave can't help but be fantastic. Have a great day!
Razor - Edwin Jagger DE89L Blade - Rapira Swedish Supersteel (day 2) Brush - Omega 50014 travel brush Shaving soap - Route One Pumpkins Lavender Cedarwood Shaving Soap Aftershave - Lea Aftershave Balsam I used a boar brush to see if it would do a better job of lathering the Route One Pumpkins soap than my badger brush. It is hard to get a decent lather out of the soap, but the little Omega worked reasonably well. The soap was still a bear to lather, but the effort was rewarded with a baby bottom smooth four pass shave that is still bbs this evening. Simply amazing! After getting the Omega brush, I realized that boar brushes are just as good as badger and a fraction of the price. I would have done just as well to get an Omega boar brush in the first place.
A lot of men seem to feel the same way. I think it is because of cartridge and electric razor commercials back in the day that showed people nicking and cutting themselves. In reality, the nicks and cuts are only that bad when an advertiser is trying to sell a different kind of razor.

Saturday CeraVe cleanser Perak Pusher Fancies unscented soap Mühle hjm black fiber brush Bic Sensitive 3 disposable razor CeraVe lotion On a quick weekend trip to LA to attend a memorial service for an uncle who recently passed away. Shaving kit is minimal with a disposable razor to be legal in my carry-on. I haven't used the Bic disposables for a couple of years, so I was a little apprehensive. It wasn't too bad, a little bit of irritation from a three pass shave. Heading back to Seattle tomorrow.
