Fantastic shave this morning!! I am one of those who loves Williams. Guess I'm a sucker for tallow soaps. And I've found a new use for all of my pre shave oils; lubing my shavette and straights between use. Have a great day gents.

Great shave today close comfortable with no irritation. Love the Ben Franklin scent and just a great cooling sensation from the Osage rub. Can't wait to try an actual straight

    Speick Saturday:

    Prep: Hot compress
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Cream: Speick
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (2, 3) :signs081:
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS

A lapse in concentration put a serious damper on an otherwise fine DFS shave. On the WTG pass, I neglected to 'hold' long enough on the 'swallow and hold' technique for shaving around the Adam's Apple, resulting in a nasty little cut that bled pretty persistently. Hopefully I can count this as a lesson learned on not making the shave TOO meditative an experience.

4th shave with the Stirling Glacial sample. Looks like I may get about 2 more from this sample.

Prep: Warm wash and homemade PSO
Razor: Gillette Tech - oval slots
    Blade: Gillette Super Thin (1)
    Lather: Stirling Glacial
    Brush: Omega 31025
Post: Cold Rinse and Captain's Choice Bay Rum

First try of the Gillette Super Thin blade. I'm not that impressed. 3 pass shave was just okay. No nicks or weepers. Stirling Glacial continues to be :Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily: CC Bay Rum at the end resulted in goosebumps on my face!:duel::happy069::Animatedfrozensmily:. The cold of the Glacial won.

Prep: hot shower, Nivea face scrub
    Razor: Mergress XL
    Blade: LaDas
    Soap: AOS Lavender
    Brush: Muhle Silvertip
Post: Thayers Rose With Hazel, 100% Shea Butter

Had to try out this new blade off a recommendation the other day and it was sitting so lonely in the bottom of my blade box. Pulled out my trusty go to the Mergress XL. I love this razor so much. It's like it was designed for my hand and eyes. Lathered up with my Art of Shaving Lavender, the tallow version, and heated it up with my scuttle. Decided to go easy on my face and do a two pass with a one pass on my neck. Very efficient blade. Mowed down everything on the first pass and barely left anything for the second. I can't wait for my little one to not have to be carried around any more so I can start using scented AS again. SWMBO doesn't like the smell getting on her :( Over all a great shave. Very comfortable!

I concur with assessment of this frigid soap. Luckily for me I usually require just a 2 pass shave but on one occasion I gave it 3 just to see how cold it would get and tears started to swell and it helped clear my sinuses. I finished that shave off with subzero AS with M-Bomb added and wished afterwards I had not added the M-Bomb it froze my face that bad which lasted almost an hour. GREAT STUFF!!

I was enjoying the menthol effect so much that I wanted to do a third pass which made me even smoother and resulted in an additional shot of a frigid punch. I figured that it would have been a waste of such nice lather not to do that third pass! :)

Update! I used the same razor, blade and soap for an afternoon headshave. This was the best combination I have found! The blade and razor did an incredible job of removing 2 days worth of scalp stubble with ease. Something about the Tech just works for me and finding the proper angle for shaving my skull.

    02/22/2014. My wife's birthday!

    Hot shower
    Nivea menthol face wash
    Merkur Progress (5-4)
    Voskhod (2)
    RazoRock San Valentine
    Semogue 750
    Face lathered
    Cold rinse
    Alum
    Cold rinse
    Dickinson WH
    Clubman Orignal
    Nivea sensitive balm
Truly one of the best DFS I've had in awhile! My 1st pass with the Progress was dialed up to 5, wow that's a lot of blade exposure! Again the San Valentine was very slick and cushiony. I haven't used the original Clubman is sometime, I love the powdery smell. Voskhod again was excellent! I'll push it for a 3rd shave 2morrow. :git:

    Sunday

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Haslinger Schafmilch(Sheep’s Milk)
    Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim
Blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Yellow Sharp Edge (4)
Brush: Whipped Dog Synthetic w/Bethlehem Olive Wood Handle-24mmx58mm
    Aftershave: Pino Silvestre

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

My 3rd shave with the Haslinger using 3 different brushes. I used the WD Synthetic today: 30 second load and to my face. I had plenty of lather for 3 passes plus. As expected the 7 O’Clock Yellow SE did a terrific job on all four shaves: close, smooth, and nick free. I finished with Pino.
