Not that I am a linguist, but one thing I did pick up on during my three years in Germany was this rule of thumb: When two vowels are together, pronounce the second one long. For example: stein (as in beer stein) is "stine"
Per this German vid: Die richtige Aussprache ist: "Sch-pike" or "Sh-pike" with a long 'I'; 'e' is silent.
I have yet to use any of their products but have ordered a tube of their shaving cream. Hopefully I'll have it in the mail Friday. A bottle of the AS is definitely going on my wish list.
Is this the stuff you guys are talking about? http://www.fendrihan.com/speick-after-shave-lotion-p-734.html?cPath=116_5_28

Speick splash is actually harvested from the sweat of mystical Bavarian Forest Nymphs. http://www.speickwerk.com
I loved the scent of the SC but for some reason I had an allergic reaction to it. That was quite a bummer to find out since i loved its performance, but At least I can use the Balm and Splash. Fortunately Speick Active Shave Soap is now available stats side, but it isn't cheap.
