It's the last week of February - spring is almost here and this'll be my frigid set-up for: Menthol Monday! Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash Proraso Green Crema Pre Barba Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/new Permasharp Proraso Green SC Anherb AS Conditioner Osage Rub AS Azzaro Pour Homme EdT Brrrrrrrrr cold and beautiful is the way to describe this set-up because every item is colder than heck. The Gatsby facial wash is colder than quite a few mentholated creams and soaps and it smells nice, with great moisturizing. The Proraso Green pre-shave cream freezes the face even more, and sets the stage for the matching shaving cream which we all know about already, and the Anherb conditioner and the Rubby Dubby Doo are both guaranteed to leave the skin so frozen that you'll be almost numb for the whole day!

Dang, you guys sure get a headstart on the Monday morning shaves! It's only 10:30am here PST, Sunday, on the west coast of the US...
My shave week starts on Sunday, so I'll put mine up too. For the week, thanks to certain "bad influences" on this board (you know who you are!), I'm signing on for another week of GEM shaving. This time with my black handle push button. Pella PTFE blade. Queen Charlotte Soap orange-clove soft SS (special order). edit: I decided to add in a little AS this week, which I don't normally use. So, now we have a wee splash of a Russian-made AS (but EDT strength) called, creatively enough, "For Men" ("для мужчин"). It compliments the QCS soap quite nicely with a similar scent profile and a touch of amber or maybe sandalwood.
I believe this week is TSD week, which unless it stands for "theatre study & drama" or "Tomb Sweeping Day"—let's assume its refers to putting into play TSD products. Good thing I just got my first product delivery last week. So timely….

Getting better everyday - day three with SC101 I went back to old reliable Tabac today, and my results were better than yesterday... Really smooth BBS on my face, DFS with a couple weepers on my neck. I used the OC side on my right, and the SB side on my left to compare the sides. There wasn't much difference for me, both gave me a weeper on my neck, but overall this was the best shave so far with the SC101. Prep: warm face wash with Shea Moisture TBS Soap: Tabac! I just finished four shaves with the 7 O’Clock Yellow and wanted to give the Russian Greenie a run for a change. I covered the Stirling Clubman puck with hot water while I showered. I loaded my brush for 10 seconds and had great lather for my 3-pass shave. The Russian Green and Slim gave me a great shave! I finished up with Clubman. Headed for San Antonio……… Bob
5/8 Bema Stirling Ben Franklin homemade boar I finished out this Bema on an Arky last night, very sharp but a little aggresive and I wouldn't consider it a soft shaver as it is. I'll try a little more leather on it tonight and see if it calms down a bit. Same knot as yesterday, same loft with a slightly oversized hole. I'm going to glue it. Also have a experiment with paint and glue going on with this handle but won't bore you with the details. We'll see how that works out too. Have a good one.

Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Fat-handled Tech and Gillette 7 O'Clock blade left me near BBS. A cold water rinse followed with Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave left me smooth, clean, and refreshed.

MONDAY TSD Week & Menthol Monday A Very Face-Chilling Shave this morn using two TSD products and menthol soap, post-shave AS & balm. The TSD pre-shave balm 'Iced SubZero' has a minty, almost medicinal scent, and provides a slick pre-shave barrier, plus an immediate cooling effect on the skin. The balm is very similar in 'feel' to a shea-butter based pre-shave balm (see pic below) I made in the past, sans menthol. I mixed my Stirling 'Black Ice' menthol lather in a bowl and added 3 drops of the TSD M-Bomb. This resulted in a lather that was incredibly cool & tingly on the face, but not so much as to be uncomfortable. Two-pass shave finished with Osage Rub & 444 balm = a smooth, well-chilled face! Have a great Monday, all! My homemade 'citrus-scented' pres-shave balm.
