Here's the thing. I don't wear cologne. My wife has a very picky sniffer. She prefers the "spicey" scents and I prefer the "Old man" ones. The two scents we both like are the AV Ice Blue and the Barbesol Pacific Rush. The problem is that they don't last long. Can anyone recomend a cologne with a similar scent to either.

 

Isn't bay rum a spicy old man scent?

 

Yes but I dont care for the clove. I have some bay rum but it smells like food to me.
Has to be somthing out there similar to AV.

 

Good bay rum, like Captains Choice, doesn't have clove...

Some will turn up their nose, but have you tried Adidas Dynamic Pulse? Sort of a spicy/citrusy scent that I find ladies (wife and daughter, female coworkers, my patients) universally like. I am constantly complimented on it, and it offers good skin care for a splash. Might appeal, as my wife and daughters love AV as well.

 

Awesome. Will grab a bottle. Where do you find it? Is it AS or cologne?

You would think so but she doesn't like the OS. I wish she did.

 

Aftershave. Various drugstores. My local Walmart carries it.

Mostly, I guess. To each their own!

 

Masters Blue is AV-like. On the spicy side, Florida Water comes to mind. Both are very good values as aftershaves, and both have reasonable staying power too.

 

Don't forget JoAnna makes cologne too, and from the scent description page:

might fit the bill.

 

I am going to make a suggestion on something available is a sample of Egyptian Spice.

Description: Egyptian Spice - spicy fragrance with notes of frankincense and myrrh.

It is one of my favorite items from the TSD shop. It is different than Old Spice (which I like as well).

Since it is a sample, you won't be out much if you try it and you (or your spouse) does not like it.

 

I'm not sure I've smelt a 'spicy old man' before....
