Post-action picture SOTD March 11 2014 Prep : shower + hot towel Scuttle : Yoresh double-walled Brush : Omega 48 banded Uber-Lather : Martin de Candre Fougere soap + MEM Olive cream Razor : Gillette English Tech with IDF stainless steel handle Blade : Q-Ball Israeli Personna Platinum Plus Post : cold water + Thayer's Witch Hazel + Floid Genuine AS I had to hack 4 days worth of stubble today so I went with full hot towel treatment. Lathered the MdC and Mem Olive together and got probably the best lather in the world I lathered once and applied the hot towel, waited 2 minutes, rinse, lathered again and did a WTG pass. The Tech razor and Q-Ball blade combination did a perfect job and left me with very little work for the second pass. An ATG pass took care of what was left , resulting in a perfect BBS without irritation at all. Rinse with cold water , follow with Thayer's Witch Hazel and Floid aftershave and I'm ready. A perfect shave for a (hopefully)perfect day

Great combination today! Great shave! I finished with Pino. Bob
Tyr's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm Brush: Beeline Boar (IFIHT Week) Soap: Ginger's Garden Grapefruit Mint (IFIHT Week) Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (4) Passes: WTG, XTG (9, 10) Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS The desire to reach for tools I hadn't used in a bit turned this into a mini-menthol morning, as the cool of the mint and the chill of the Ice Blue combined. I still enjoy the 'skritchiness' of the Beeline Boar brush, but I get the distinct impression I've not yet broken it in by board standards. As close as yesterday's shave was, I only needed 2 passes to get BBS results today, and the Bic is still going strong on day 4, unlike its identically branded predecessor. Apparently there's a bit of variance on the machines that produce them.
Tuesday: hot shower Homemade PSO Schick Krona 2+ passes Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum black (3) Omega boar Pre de Provence soap Thayer's unscented Stetson Cooling Moisture AS Fast and furious this morning. Still can't seem to get out of bed an hour earlier. Great shave with the Krona and first time using the Pre de Provence and the Stetson. Made my lather a little too thin so I'll need to work on the ratio next time. The Stetson has a nice scent and a nice feel plus I picked up the matching deodorant stick which may smell slightly better than the aftershave IMO. ps. third time using the Black Ninja (different razors each time) and I'm ready to say this is a great blade.
Tuesday: Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Rapira day 2 Tabac Shaving Stick Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer Tabac AS Damn, I still very much under the weather from this flu bug but I still wanted to shave and clean up a little. The Tabac stick's rich, creamy lather was so nice but because of the way I'm feeling, I really couldn't enjoy it too much. Two passes - WTG followed by ATG got me a DFS+ shave with no irritation. Sorry for not showing any pictures today - that's how lousy I feel.
5/8 Size Gold Le Pere Lucien homemade brush Years ago I put a minimum bid in on this French made razor and won it. Postage was more than the razor, it was then I notice it was coming from Turkey. So with postage it was around $20. It's always been a excellent shaver. Have a good one.
Dove Men's Face Wash Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap Parker Black Badger Gillette Super Speed '76 Derby Extra (3) Thayers Cucumber WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue It was an outstanding shave today with the Col. Conk Bay Rum shave soap face lathered with the Parker black badger brush. Two passes is all it took with the Gillette '76 Super Speed and Derby Extra stainless blade to get a near BBS shave. I finished off with a cold water rinse followed by Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Tuesday, March 11, 2014 Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion Razor: EJ DE89L Blade: Voskhod (1) Cream: Arko Ice Mint Brush: Semogue 830 Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Perfect shave! I haven't used the Arko cream in a while and had forgotten just how good it is. Fantastic lather and protection. The DE89 and Voskhod is a terrific combination for me. Have a great day!
3/11/14 Prep: Hot shower and face wash with Stirling Barbershop Lather: C.O. Bigelow Brush: Stirling Best Badger Razor: Stirling 3P2 Blade: Derby Post: Cold rinse and Captain's Choice Bay Rum Maiden voyage of the Stirling badger brush and 3P2 razor with a really fat handle. Stay tuned for a further review of both. Initial impression of the razor and blade combo - a little harsh but no nicks or weepers. I figured out the angle pretty quickly. Initial thoughts on the badger brush - sucked up my Bigelow lather in 2 passes and shed quite a bit on the first use. All in all, decent shave, but not great. More aggressive razor than I have used, but I think it will do okay. Will shave with it this week to learn more about it.

TUESDAY Back -To-Work Day A very good early morning shave today; this Repp razor has given me consistently-smooth results. Wish it were this easy everyday to get a great shave! DFS+! Have a blessed Tuesday, all!
SOTD March 11 -- Blade safari day 37 Prep: hot shower, Proraso pre-shave white Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki with ball end handle Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (day 4) Brush: Vie-Long Soap: Proraso white Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG) Post: Nivea Men cool kick Seems to have been a mix up at the lather delivery outlet... I mighty have ended up with a weeks worth of lather this morning. It was a good lather too. I brought out the pre-shave for a couple reasons today. The Gillette Silver Blue has not been working as well as I had hoped with my face, and I wanted to give it a little boost for its last shave. I also wanted to do a little maintenance on my circle beard and transform it into a traditional van dyke. In both cases the pre-shave didn’t provide the desired outcome... After four days of use I still got a nice shave from the silver blue, but extra irritation. as for the beard transformation I did get some minor trimming done have decided that a DE might not be the best tool at my disposal....
