    Tuesday

    Prep: CeraVe facial cleanser
    Soap: Tiki Bar unscented
Brush: Oscar11 custom with HIS knot
    Razor: Bakelite slant
    Blade: Gillette SharpEdge (yellow pack)
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

I got just the right mix of water with the Tiki soap and was rewarded with an excellent thick and creamy lather. For me, it is just perfect when the lather is very dense and white on the brush, and forms a white ribbon hanging on the razor as I shave. Excellent!

Three passes with the vintage Bakelite slant gave a smooth result. This razor is very light. I may try putting the head on a more substantial handle next time. But I do like the look, especially when paired with the ivory look handle on my Oscar11 brush.

So I've discovered I can get a very shave ready edge with a Norton 8K stone, this was very comfortable and close. The aftershave let me know there was no irritation at all and I'm glad I'm back with the straights!!

I have had that razor since I was in Boot Camp. When we were in the holding barracks the Salvation Army or maybe the Red Cross gave each of us a box with Hygiene supplies in it. A Gillette Razor, a package of razor blades & a can of Shaving Cream (I think it was Barbersol ) . A Tooth Brush, a tube of Tooth Paste, a hair brush & comb set (for what ever reason I do not know why) a couple of packs of Kleenex, a pad of writing paper a box of envelopes, and a little spiral note book, and a ink pen. When we got to our barracks and our platoon area, the DI confiscated everything except the Razors and Razor Blades and the Tooth Paste & Tooth Brush. Then the next day we were all taken to the Recruit Training Area PX . We all had a list of all kinds of things we were to purchase with our voucher tickets, if I remember correctly when we packed our clothing and belongings (to send back home) if we had any cash in our procession we had to send that home also. The only way we able to pay for something was with those vouchers. The first hair cut was free. (the barber was mad at me, because I already had a shaved head) To answer your question I like that razor. It's like being the owner of classic car.(original owner) I like my Birth Year razor, but I prefer my Weber 3pc.

I have Frost_Byte on my list too and this morning came across this video that helped answer my question on how it would rate compared to Yeti and Glacial.

Indeed, there are no soaps as cold as Glacial and Yeti Snot but this stuff looks interesting.

    No that is not .
That is Lieutenant General Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller
Puller was an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Puller is one of the most, if not the most, decorated members of the Marine Corps in its history.
I believe that picture was taken at or after Guadalcanal during WWII.
