Chesty was da' man! I've read enough WW2 history books to realize how much the men who served in uniform during that epic struggle gave for their country—and many gave all!

I had an Uncle that joined the Corps as a Private.....he retired as a Major. He served under Chesty Puller, at Guadalcanal .

My Dad not only survived the sinking of the USS California at Pearl Harbor. He also survived the sink of the Heavy Cruiser USS Chicago at the battle of Savo Island.

Face Wash - Triumph & Disaster
PreShave - HTGAM Synergy PreShave Butter Balm
    Brush - Omega 599 (18mm Silvertip)
Soap - HTGAM Synergy Meta Nectar Soap
Razor - Dubl Duck Wonderedge 5/8
    Strop - SRD Modular Paddle
    Astringent - RazoRock Alum Block
Aftershave - Captain’s Choice Lime Aftershave

I like the Butter Balm but it gunk's up my razors. I really don't think that I need it anyway with the awesome lather I got. Also, it's time to order a full sized bottle of the Captain's Choice too. I think that will be my summer aftershave choice.

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: MEM Olive Cream
Razor: 40’s Style Gillette Super Speed
    Blade: Israeli Red Personna (4)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip 22mmx48mm
    Aftershave: Grey Flannel

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

My first shave with the MEM Olive cream from Israel and the 4th shave with the Israeli Red this time around. The MEM lathers and performs very well. The SS and Red like each other. I finished up with Grey Flannel, another classic.

Nice shave this morning. I must admit, I enjoy boar brushes. They're what I grew up with and just feel so natural use. Have a good one.

Finally I'm starting to feel a little better so I used a good menthol set-up!

Osage Rub AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

A very enjoyable and comfortable BBS shave with plenty of menthol thrown in. Besides the Neutrogena facial wash which is very cooling, this Ice & a Slice soap from the UK is a great face-freezer which smells awesome and gives good lather and skincare. The 444 balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo felt so cold that they made my eyes tear! ;) :D

It was a mighty fine shave today. I love the way my Frank Shaving finest badger face lathers the TOBS Lavender shaving cream. Two passes with the Gillette '76 Super Speed with the Derby Extra stainless blade left me near BBS. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Family Dollar Old Spice AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

DFS today! Face lathered the Omega Crema and had a nice slick lather. Shave was uneventful with 3 passes and touch-ups. Razor seemed smoother than yesterday and never noted any harshness with this more aggressive razor.

    Prep: hot shower
Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki with ball end handle
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (day 1)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Proraso Green
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: Nivea Men cool kick

I've used the Proraso Green a handful of times, and this was the first time I've gotten and hint of menthol from it. It wasn't strong, but it was nice. Can't complain about the amount or performance of the lather either, Proraso make some good soap.

Normally when I shave on weekdays, the shower is running so I don't get much audible feedback from my shaves, not today though. The Gillette Platinum was quite loud as it chopped down my stubble.

    Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum black (4)
    VDH boar
    Palmolive cream
    Thayer's unscented w/aloe
    Brut AS balm

50 degrees yesterday and the day before. Got up to see 6 fresh inches of heavy wet snow with more on the way. Seemed like a good morning for some refreshing menthol.
I just shaved yesterday so I didn't have much stubble but I was in the mood and it feels great to slather some balm on freshly shaved skin.

    New favorite
I used my Old Type head for the first time since I got my SC101. I can say that after 20 shaves, the iKon is my new favorite razor. Don't get me wrong, I got a very close shave with my OT this morning, it's just less forgiving and not as smooth as the 101. I still got a comfy BBS on my face, but my neck is a different story. I got more comfortable results using the 101 there. I guess this is how I should judge razors - every razor I've used has been easy peasy on my cheeks, but they vary on my neck. The 101 is a keeper. I'm not giving up on my OT yet, just observations from today's shave.

Prep: warm face wash with Jack Black All Over Wash

    Brush: HIS synthetic
Razor: Frankenrazor (Old Type head on Bulldog handle)
