The Praraso Green Shave Cream was very refreshing. The Semogue 1305 Boar Brush did an excellent job face lathering. Two passes with the Gillette Super Speed and Derby Extra stainless blade left me near BBS. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: Cella
    Razor: Gillette Slim
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip 22mmx48mm
    Aftershave: Clubman

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

I pulled out the good ol’ Cella today, loaded up the Slim with a Gillette Platinum, and went to town. What’s not to love? I finished up with Clubman.

    Thor's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: Van Der Ginger's frankensoap
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (6)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (13, 14, 15)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails AS
Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes

The VDH looks a little worse by comparison, every time I pull it out; relative to my other brushes, it seriously lags in the lather production department. I was still able to make perfectly serviceable lather, just not as luxurious, and had to go back to the puck before the 3rd pass. The Bic held up well for such relatively prolonged use, without even any weepers today and BBS results. That said, there was just enough irritation present before the Cat o' Nine Tails AS that I opted to swap in a new blade for tomorrow.

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
    Razor: EJ DE89L
    Blade: Voskhod (3)
    Soap: Stirling Orange Chill
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: Old Spice

I haven't used anything with menthol in it for a while, so I decided to try my seldom used Stirling Orange Chill. This is a great soap, but it is very cold! Think Margaritas in the Arctic, but with an orange scent. It was very refreshing and left me ready to face the day with a terrific shave.

    Have a great day!

    Blade: Gillette Platinum (day 2)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Proraso Green
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: Nivea Men cool kick

My Proraso Green skills need some work... Lather was a little dry today and back to no hint of menthol.

The Gillette Platinum was a bit of a different beast today too. In an effort to tackle yesterday's missed stubble I did some ATG touch ups. It worked, but I'm in big trouble if that ends up being one of today's better decisions. The Platinum is not a good ATG blade for me. No nicks or weepers, but not pleasant either.

Decent shave, but certainly not "angels singing" like some say after the first use of a slant. No issues on cheeks, a little burn on lower neck.

Although I'm feeling much better I'm staying home for one more day because of the bitter-cold weather which hit us again after a big blizzard we had yesterday. An effortless and very enjoyable BBS shave in two passes with my favorite DE/blade combination. The Aspis Ice Rain cream (thanks again so much, Veli!) smells really nice, lathers beautifully and gives perfect skincare. Its menthol effect is not that strong but it can be felt, and the Neutrogena facial wash definitely packs a strong cooling blast. The Svoboda balm and the Aqua Velva felt like heaven. ;) :D

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
Razor: Kampfe Brothers Star SE, French Frame Back straight razor
Blade: GEM PFTE coated SE blade (3)
Soap: Grey Flannel brush less shaving cream
After: Home made ASB, Grey Flannel after shave, Grey Flannel after shave lotion
    Cologne: Grey Flannel EDT

I found some Grey Flannel shaving cream on ebay. I was very excited until I found out that it is a brush less product. I figured that I should at least give it a try. The cream went on easily but a little dry. A little bit goes a long way. A small amount of water to hydrate it made a big difference. The shave went uneventfully. When I did the cold water rinse, there did seem to be a small amount of irritation. The shaving cream did not give me the protection that I am used to. The Grey Flannel after shave has the same scent as the EDT. It went on easily and my skin soaked it up immediately. I let my face dry a bit and then used the Grey Flannel after shave lotion. The lotion has a slightly creamier scent than the after shave. The lotion is not greasy feeling and went on easily.

I only ended up doing a one pass shave today and I got a Darn Fine Shave for my efforts. I think that this set up will be good for days when I am in a hurry.

    Have a blessed day!

I may have underestimated my HIS brush. I did a side by side comparison today and it certainly outperforms my Dad's boar, which I think is a Burma Shave version of the c40. Both easily whipped up the Electric Sheep into thick luxe lather, but the HIS made more with less product, and felt nicer on my face, too.
The PolSilver SI blade works well with the SC101 for me, I got a smooth shave, with a couple very small weepers on my neck. The Shea Moisture aftershave elixir really helps control the redness I get on my neck. It stings a bit at first, but then it feels and smells great. It's a scent that I never thought I'd like - grapefruit, since I don't like to eat them.
Prep: Burt's Bees Sensitive face wash
    Soap: Stirling Electric Sheep
    Brush: HIS, c40
    Razor: iKon Shavecraft 101
    Blade: PolSilver SI (1)

    Soap: Tiki Bar unscented
    Brush: Plisson synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101

I am loving this Tiki bar soap! Good creamy lather, face feels great afterward. The unscented soap has a pleasant mild smell, reminding me of the smell of plain air popped pop corn!

Excellent shave from the ShaveCraft razor with a fresh Astra blade.
