I was all set to buy personna lab blues in bulk but then I tried Gillette silver blues. This blade just gave me the shave of my life! BBS in 3 passes with no nicks, weeps, or irritation. This paired up perfectly with my EJ DE89 with a weber bulldog handle.
Just make sure to use a couple of blaxes before you purchase. My brother and I felt the same way but continued use "shaving everyday" started to lead to irritation with the silver blue. We still have and use the blade just not as a daily cutter.
I'm partial to the Personna Lab Blue. It's really good to try as many as you can (sampler pack) before you make a big buy. Happy Shaving!
I was given a several DE Razor Blades, I also have some razor blades that were my "Father-in-Laws" These blades are over 10 years old. They are Wilkinson Stainless Steel Blades.{they were in a box of some of his toiletries} and to tell the truth they seem better than any of the new ones that I have. I do find myself leaning toward the Astra Superior DE Platinum Blades. As other folks have stated "YMMV"
I too, really like the Astra SP blades and if you look you can get them for $10 per 100. I also still like the Red IPs, which I also have a lot of, so I'll wait to try the Labs. T
I've tried Astra SP and they're good but not as good as Silver Blues on my face. Personnas are better for me than astras too. I'm still gonna test the Silver Blues out another few blades before I go bulk.
I am very interested to hear that. I have not had the pleasure of a Silver Blue; the Personnas that I use are the Red (made in Israel). I'm not sure that I like one or the other. The Astras are great, shave 1, the Red IPs-not so much. The IPs win day 2 or 3 hands down. I think.... The Astras are better straight out of the box and the Red IPs hang in a little better. That's my foggy take. T
