If i'm gonna buy a vintage gillette rocket gold, what is the best option? Witch one is would you guys go for?
Being that it looks like there were only 3 models of Rockets that were gold or gold plated, I don't think it is a matter of which one we would go for as much as which one you can find. So in a nutshell, if you want a vintage gold Rocket, get whichever gold Rocket you can find.
A Rocket is I understand just a UK made Super Speed so why limit yourself. Look for a gold razor of that type in excellent condition. Replating is an option too but maybe not a cheap one.
Seems we're forgetting that TSD is an international community, and English is not necessarily the first language of all of our visitors, as is the case with our member flettaloff. Thread cleaned up and edits made accordingly, if anyone has any problems with the changes I've made, feel free to PM me.
Now I see that rocket wasnt produced in 1922.. Does anyone now about some razors produced in 1922? And the flare tip, is it possible to get that in gold?
The best resource for Gillette razors can be seen HERE Take a few minutes to look through it and you should find the answers you're looking for.
Gillette Old Type Gillette NEW Improved Serial numbers for the 1922 year: 863913A‑999999A 1B‑336676B Edit - as for a flare tip it was chrome so you'd need to find a replate or get one done.
Date code is B for that, so: B1 - First Quarter B2 - Second Quarter B3 - Third Quarter B4 - Fourth Quarter Razors that were in production for that year were: Tech, Blue Tip SS, Red Tip SS, Flare Tip SS,.
