Monday, March 17 - MY FIRST MENTHOL MONDAY Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, 2 hot towels TSD Iced Subzero Preshave Balm C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream, 4 drops TSD M-Bomb (I only meant to add 3, but one slipped out) Merkur HDC Gillette Silver Blue Blade (1) Cold water rinse Thayers w/Aloe Osage Rub The Shave - Very nice. That could be for any number of reasons - the extra glide provided by the balm, getting used to the Silver Blues, or "the luck o' the Irish." Most of my shaves are shy of DFS; this one was dead-on DFS. The Menthol Experience - Nice, but I was actually expecting more of a rush. I did feel a chill, but nothing like many of you have written about. My eyes stung a little, but never watered. I did feel it when I rinsed with cold water. Wow! Then, when I applied the Osage Rub, it first stung, then chilled. The chill hung around for about a half hour after I finished. I'm looking forward to "kicking it up a notch" when my wife lets me spend money again. I've been keeping a wish-list of some of the products the rest of you use. The Verdict - I'll definitely be a regular Monday participant. Our house doesn't have AC, so this may be my "go-to" shave during the summer. I told my wife, "If I looked more like John Cena, and les than John Candy, I'd buy an old-fashioned shaving table and shave outside this summer." But no one wants to see that.
Comfortable shave I used Tabac again today, so you know the results are going to be good. Easy, smooth and comfortable BBS cheeks and DFS neck. I've concluded that my XTG passes on my neck are most comfortable if I go at an angle from ear to chin instead of straight down, then down at an angle the opposite way. This, and the Coconut Bay Butter Balm make my ATG pass smoother. The Shea Moisture AS elixir is a great product that actually does, for me, what it promises - reducing redness and bumps on my neck, while providing a little moisture. I usually supplement it with a balm in winter, but it's plenty in the summer. I would use it everyday if I didn't like Krampert's so much. Prep: Burt's Bees Sensitive face wash Soap: Tabac! Tuesday Morning Shave Razor: Edwin Jagger DE8911 Blade: Rapira (1) Brush: Vie-Long White Horse Hair Soap: Arko AS: Brut Original Yesterday I received my order from Valencia,Spain. I ordered this terrific DE razor with Vie-Long's white horse hair brush and Proraso Green Shaving Soap. Edwin Jagger is as awesome as I expected and others are great as well. Anyway, long story short, I had a great BBS.

Tuesday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Rapira day 2 Stirling Glacial SS Visal AS Gel Osage Rub AS Dolce & Gabbana EdT This shave proved to me once and for all that the Glacial soap is easily as cold as the Yeti Snot which I used yesterday. The lather worked up very nice and slick and not only gave me such an intense freezing effect, it also left a fantastic feeling of moisturizing and protection against irritation and razor burn. The Visal gel and the Rubby Dubby Doo are two other amazing face-freezers which I love so much. BBS again and so enjoyable!

Have a great day!
6/8 Gong T.O.B.S. Sandalwood SC homemade brush After yesterday, I thought I lost my razor sharpening Fu but I came back with a excellent shave this morning. I was playing around with a coupe of barber hones, a Pike Eze Hone and a carborundum 103 and ended up with a fine shave. I guess when you experiment sometimes it turns out, sometimes it doesn't. Have a good one.
SOTD March 18 -- Blade safari day 43 Prep: hot shower, Proraso pre-shave white Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki with ball end handle Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (day 3) Brush: Vie-Long Soap: Col Conk lime Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG) Post: Nivea Men cool kick Last night I noticed that I had a fair bit of stubble to go through, so out came the pre-shave. I don't use it often, but o do like the stuff. The pre-shave and Col Conk helped deliver a slick shave with only a little bit of tugging.
