The Williams Mug Shaving Soap comes up every ten shaves and I am amazed by it every time. It lathers easily and provides a rich slick substrate for a great shave. The Frank Shaving finest badger brush really likes Williams. Two passes and touch ups with the '62 Gillette Slim and Voskhod Teflon Coated blade left me with a near BBS face. I finished off with a cold water rinse followed by Thayers Cucumber WH and Family Dollar Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

3 pass shave for near CCS today. Starting to think I may not like this badger brush much. I grow weary of the constant shedding and then the appearance of dog hair on my face and in my sink. I haven't counted, but it loses at least 5 hairs every day and I have used it about 8 times.

I had a nice 2 pass with a couple of touch ups shave this morning. I found the Wade and Butcher Bow razor as just the blade in an antique store about a month ago. After making a set of scales, pinning it together and doing a hone job it had it's maiden voyage this morning. Making the long story short, the razor honed up nicely and gave a nice comfortable Darn Fine Shave + this morning.

My wife and I heading out of town today to celebrate my upcoming birthday and for some long-overdue R&R, so this will be my last SOTD for next few days.
My second shave with the Barbasol Floating Head razor—with similar results to my first use: extremely close yet thoroughly comfortable. Yes, I am growing quite fond of this razor after only 2 uses!
The D.R. Harris soap ('Marlborough') has a great woodsy scent (cedar, sandalwood, hint of tobacco), and a slick lather that requires some effort to create; the 'matching' aftershave provides a great finish. A near BBS two-pass shave rivaling the great straight razor shave of yesterday!

Yesterday I had an unsatisfactory lather from Mike's soap, so I decided to give it another try today before continuing on my soap tour. Today's later was much better! Clearly yesterday was user error. I softened up the puck by putting a little water on it and letting it set for several minutes. I shook the wet brush to be sure I didn't have too much water when I went to load.

I love your homemade brush! As someone who plays around with woodworking, did you use a pattern for it? Would love to hear more about how you made your brush!

Received my special order of Tiki Soaps Bay Rum w Lime in tallow and what a fantastic shave soap. Bay Rum first hits you then the lime kicks when you lather up. Lather explodes very similar to Al's the Bomb shave products it was that easy to whip a thick yogurt like lather and the post shave slickness was outstanding. Now I see why reviews are popping up highly praising Amanda's shaving soaps in both tallow and vegan. Tomorrow will try out Set Sail in tallow and the aroma on this soap is quite nice.​

Another 'mini-menthol' day with the pairing of the Grapefruit Mint glycerin soap with the AV Ice Blue aftershave. I managed somehow to open up a weeper under my chin, possibly due to the blade starting to dull, so I'll toss in a fresh blade tomorrow. Fortunately, two straight 3-pass, BBS shaves made any more than 2 passes unnecessary today, and I still wound up with DFS+ results.
