I have been the receiver of many great gifts from the wet shaving community since I converted from cartridges in January, a few won by PIFs and a few just gifts from gentlemen I have never even met. And since it is PIF month and my birthday, I would like to give back to the community with my very first PIF! I don't like having many rules on PIFs, we should all have a chance and it shouldn't be difficult. Let's be gentlemen about this shall we?

    Rules:
    1. Must be CONUS. I'm Active Duty with a family of four, not a rock star.
    2. Post "I'm in." Along with why you converted from cartridges-tell your story.
    3. Post a picture of your favorite razor and why.

    Now for the loot:
1 puck of Sterling Coniferous (Pine scent ain't for me) used a couple times, couldn't dig the pine on my face.
1 tube of Burt's Bees Shaving Cream. Used once. Smells great, but it's a brushless cream. Ain't for me.
1 tube of Caswell Massey Sandalwood Shaving cream. Also smells like Pine, nothing like TOBS scent. Used once.
1 bottle of a discontinued scent- Gillette aftershave gel Wild Rain. Smells nice, but I prefer my old man scents.

I will end this on Friday, March 28th at 2100 (09:00pm for you) PST. I will mail it out a couple days after, but most likely on the next day, Saturday, March 29th.

    Good luck to all!

"I'm In", (Thank you for the offer BTW!!)

I got into DE shaving in truth, looking for that "Perfect Shave".. And secondly, as I researched it, I thought I would save money lolilololilolololol!!!

My favorite Razor (currently) is the RR Mission. However, I thought I'd post a photo of my newest and likely to become a Fav..

Since this is the only razor I have it has to be my favorite. I got into wet shaving because I was looking for a more comfortable save. It's getting better as my technique improves.

Hopefully the picture works. If not I'll upload it from my computer a bit later.

The reason I entered the world of traditional wet shaving was to save money. Yeah..that joke's on me... :)
Favorite razor is hard...I love my Barbasol...but...I think the razor I have the most 'connection' with is my Gillette Slim.
It took me some time to find one in my birth year and quarter...and every time I use it I must admit I feel that age-connection with it.
The razor has held up a bit better than I have though :)

I'm in. I switched from cartridge razors because of cost and the uniqueness of using vintage razors. My favorite razor is the Ever Ready 1924. It does not let me down. A comfortable BBS almost every time and it is very well built.

    And "Happy Birthday" again. :greet002:

I had a Schick Injector Razor years ago. I have also used disposable Razors. Also used Electric Razors and Electric Wet/Dry razors. The Electric Wet/Dry never seemed to hold a charge. Never could get a good shave out of them so I went back to a 1968 Gillette Knack that I have had for more time than I want to admit. Also using a DE/SS Blade give me a great shave. They always make me "Rudy Casteel Clean" { When I was growing up there was a Car Dealership, that on their commercials on late night TV That used to say, It's a Rudy Casteel Used Car !} I guess I am showing my age. Oh well.:happy088::happy093::shaver

I converted to save money. Plus I have never liked cartridge razors. I was always kinda scared of de razors for some reason. Now I love it. I have definitely not saved money, but part of that is because I never shaved except like once a week with a cartridge razor.

My smoothest shaves are from my Merkur 23 c, but I have also used it the most. My favs are probably my new hookups from @Bobcat and @richgem. A Gillette SS TTO and a Gillette Tech respectively. Thanks guys. I'm really enjoying my first Tech Week.

I moved to safety razors at first to say money, but now I love having the "me" time.

This is my favorite razor right now, a '53 ball end tech. It's my first vintage razor and it shaves like it's new. It's not the prettiest razor but it's a great daily shaver, and come on. It's gold!

I'm in please. I got into de shaving when I noticed cartridges were nearly $30 for ten cartridges. For that kind of money they should come with some kind of auto pilot and shave you with a BBS result free from irritation. That and it just seemed pretty cool to go old school.

My favorite is my modified New. It has one side ground down which makes it easier for me to get under my nose and sideburns

I made the switch because my skin felt great after a DE shave compared to using cartridges. The addition of soaps, brushes, creams, aftershave, blades, and razors made the endeavor an enjoyable one.

My favorite razor is the DE 89 by edwin jagger as it is easy as hell to find the perfect shaving angle.

Ok I may have a new favorite, a vintage german open comb replated by krona. Its an amazing razor

    I'm in.

I started because of Rick Harrison. I saw the one touch commercial and thinking, searching, and reading reviews I ordered the Merkur Classic and a blade sampler from amazon on March 12th. It is my daily shaver and has been a joy not to have to clean the clogged blades out after every single pass or two.

Not in, but good luck to the PIF participants!

My exact reasoning as well, plus I truly dispised cartridge shaving…

My favorite double-edge razor—once I tried it, no other safety razor compared. It is not for everyone, that is for certain, but this razor is a 'keeper' for me.

I got started in SE/DE shaving a few months ago because I was so tired of shelling out a ton of money for the multi-blade cartridges and having them tear up my face. I figured if my grandfather could shave with one and not have any problems, I could too.
