I used both the Mem Olive cream and Tabac soap to get an uberlather in the Yoresh scuttle, pure fantastic. Loaded today an Q-Ball blade in the EJ razor, and did 2 passes WTG and ATG, simple and efficient BBS. After a long time using the Gillette Tech, I took out to the EJ today and was happy to see my technique has improved lately and the right angle came by intuition. Today it ended with witch hazel and Tabac AS. In one word : wunderbar

Tabacstag!
Superb shave - three pass BBS on my face and two pass DFS on my neck. No weepers or irritation. I'm now completely sold on using less water with my HIS synthetic brush. Usually, I put some water on top the puck while I prep, then wet the brush completely and shake it out. This time I skipped the puck puddle and only wet the tips of the brush and the result was much better, thicker, slicker lather, akin to yogurt. Before, I'd have to work my way through bubbly watery lather on the puck, which I just dumped out. This time there was much less waste and better lather. A true eureka moment for me in shaving.

Because yesterday's shave was so close, and took place less than 24 hours from this posting, I knew I wouldn't need 3 passes today. I kept the prep largely the same as yesterday, opting for a non-mentholated soap and for the boar brush to let the Simpson fully air out. One simple ATG pass produced no nicks or weepers and DFS+ results.

The Semogue 1305 boar brush face lathered the Col. Conk Amber shave soap very well. Two passes and touch ups on the neck with the '62 Gillette Slim and Voskhod Teflon Coated blade left me with a near BBS shave. A cold water rinse followed by Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman after shave finished off this refreshing shave.

Another work of art of a shave which felt so cool and nice - the Proraso Green pre-shave cream and soap are fantastic. I'm using the older formulation of the soap and it lathers really nicely and gives plenty of menthol cooling which the 444 balm and Floid Classic aftershave magnify very well.

Excellent shave this morning. If any of you get the opportunity to try Acca Kappa (shaving cream), go for it. I do believe it's been out of production for a while but it's my favorite Italian almond scented soap, just good stuff, really good.

Proraso white might be the best performing soaps I have, it did not let me down. Better results from the Voskhod today, easily a DFS rating, almost BBS.

I did do some touch ups with the shave, and found myself repeatedly going over the same spots, not because I needed to, but because the Voskhod let me.

Back to Work Day!

Great shave this morning using the Barbasol!
Day two using the Frontier Angel soap and it was much easier lathering as I now knew the proportions of water to add.
Very slick! Overall, a near-BBS!

Excellent shave today with the PC soap. The soap loaded easily and produced a slick creamy lather when I face lathered. Good cushion and glide, smooth and close shave. This soap leaves your skin feeling moisturized afterward, almost like you have applied a lotion. That is a good thing from my point of view, but I understand that some people don't like that kind of finish from their soap.

Physical Description:

Prairie Creations soap: a pliable tan-colored tallow soap. This soap has a mild smell similar to Barrister & Mann unscented soap, "sheepy", presumably from the lanolin. Not an unpleasant or strong smell.
