Just a follow-up.

Received my soap today and did a test-swirl immediately after work. Nice scent and a promising lather.

Tomorrow will be the big testdrive - I will get back to share my experience.

Haha, it depends, I guess. When I started DE shaving in 2008 I also discovered there's more than DVH. It's not in rotation anymore...

 

Why not? =P

 

Because I discovered some soaps I like even more. (Proraso, Mitchell's, TSD soaps).

 

I only have proraso from that list =) TSD soaps would be a bit too expensive. And om not ready for Mitchells =P

Hey Mike, still around? I'm doing the Heintje Davids shuffle hèhè

 

First shave with DVH this morning. Left the puck to soak covered in water while preparing.
Took a 30 sec swirl to load up my Wilkinson Badger and then started face lathering.
Shaved with my DE89 and an Astra SP, WTG + XTG (my skin does not like ATG).

Observations:
- Very nice "clean" soapy scent
- Decent lather - not overly rich, but provided a very good glide and the result was a DFS with no nicks or weepers.
- Seems to dry out a little quicker than my other soaps, but it may improve once I get to know it better.

Conclusion:
A great result and a nice scent - I am definitely adding this soap to the rotation.
