SoS 4/1/14 Prep: Hot shower. Nivea menthol face wash Razor: Merkur Progress Blade: Big Ben Soap: RazoRock Classic Brush: Semogue 750 Post: Alum. Dickinson WH Aftershave: Old Spice/444 Cologne: Old Spice RR Classic was the 1st soap/cream croap I purchased, I haven't used it in a lonnnng time. Very nice! A dozen swirls and I had enough for 2 shaves. It'll be back in the rotation. I smell and look good! Super shave! Tomorrow the Ever Ready 1914 arrives... Go out and get it!
Tuesday morning, April 1, 2014 Schick E2 Injector with Schick blade (11) Semogue 1305 boar bristle brush, Arko shaving soap with hot water lather, finish with cold water rinse for a CCS! Time for a new blade - (no April Fool)!
Actually, I applied some pressure with my thumb, but pressing 2 sticks with thumbs gave a little bit soreness. Later on, I applied pressure with a wooden spoon. I must admit that was better. Arko is not a hard soap, you can shape it easily, but I think grating would ease this process.
Dont melt the arko! It will seperate and be rendered useless (although not an expensive experiment one that will not work!) Grate and Press. Same with Palmolive or other tallow based soaps or sticks.
6/8 Wusthof Stirling Cool homemade brush I was home sick today and shaved about 3 in the afternoon so probably no shave tomorrow. Very nice shave, smooth and close. Have a good one.
Well it looks like the North/South Connection are both under the weather today. I am sick as well, but I had to go to work. Tomorrow I rest. Get well soon Steve and I hope to do the same as well.
That and the new brush, it's an INSTANT love. I'm going to have to do a review here soon, I'll give it a week to let it break in and see how it goes.
The SOC may take a wee bit longer to fully break in (at last mine did, but mine was boar, not badger). The tips really soften & bloom nicely!
