EASTER SHAVE Hot shower Stirling Barbershop body soap Stirling Black Ice shave soap (licorice anyone?) Stirling Black Ice WHAS Gonna smell like black licorice for the party. Woo Hoo. Happy Easter everyone.
After Friday's bloodletting at the hands of an unknown grocery store blade in my Merkur HD, Saturday had me using a Persona Blue along with my first time using Arlington soap. The soap lathered very well (first time using a soap) and I liked the scent. The shave started with no tugging and was going along fine through my first pass - until I was at the left corner of my mouth and felt the blade slip. Oh oh. Ended up gashing the crap out of my face right by the lip. Subsequent passes continued as I bled. Liberal application of a styptic pencil later, I realized that I had the closest shave I've had yet with a DE. Other than my mistake, I did not have any weepers or other nicks. Then last night I realized that I still had less growth than I've ever felt that late. Other than along the back of my jaw line, there was still no stubble to speak of. No 5 o'clock shadow. Even this morning I realize that I'm passable without shaving again. Now I normally skip shaving every other day on the weekend. As badly as I want to shave again today to keep experimenting, I'm going to skip today to see just how decent I look come evening. So far the Personna/Merkur combo seems to be a winner.
Christ is risen. Dove Men's Face Wash TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream Semogue 1305 Boar Schick M Adjustable Schick Injector Stainless Blade CWR Dickinson's WH FD Old Spice AS The Lord is risen. Today's shave was excellent. The TOBS Lavender face lathered easily with my Semogue 1305 boar brush. Two passes with my Schick M adjustable and a Schick Injector blade left me with a close comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Dickinson's WH and Family Dollar Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
SUNDAY Easter Sunday Early morning shave today as I prep for a busy day. We're expecting many new folks today so there are still plenty of things to do before the first service. Have a blessed Easter Sunday, all!
Sunday: Hot shower followed by two hot towels and a facial massage Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Sharp day 7 Gada Cool Mint SC Thayers Witch Hazel Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash Since I discovered these Stirling mentholated soaps I've been a bad boy, because I've been neglecting some of the best creams I have. The Gada Cool Mint smells so nice and does it ever lather like a maniac, with tremendous menthol power and great skincare. I'm relatively new to witch hazel because I never used any until last year, and I think I'll get some more when this bottle is finished. The Alcolado Glacial is definitely an "air conditioner in a bottle" because it feels so frigid and the effect lingers for almost a half hour. BBS to the point that I'm almost as smooth as my wife and daughter! Happy Easter to everyone!

I've used almost the same setup all week. TOBS Sandalwood cream GEM Featherweight with SS blade 3 passes, cold water splash and Master's Bay Rum I did use a different brush every day In an effort to pare down my soaps and creams, I decided to stick with a single cream or soap all week, then decide if it's a keeper. I definitely like the TOBS Sandalwood, it makes a nice rich lather. This next week is for Cella from a block.
Sunday, April 20, 2014 - Happy Easter! Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion Razor: EJ DE89 Head w/ Weber Classic Handle Blade: Personna Lab Blue (3) Cream: TOBS Eton College Brush: Semogue 830 Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion Aftershave: Pinauld Clubman I decided to use TOBS Eton College today. Eton College is my favorite scent and I just love using it. Forcing myself to use it sparingly just makes it that much better when I do use it. Of course, it gave me a wonderful, BBS shave this morning. Have a wonderful Easter. Christ is risen!

Easter Sunday Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap Soap: BdF-Mistero Razor: Gillette Slim Blade: Personna Med Prep (3) Brush: Oscar11 TGN 2-Band Finest Badger-24mmx50mm Aftershave: Speick WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit) I used the BdF Mistero today with my new Oscar11 Brush….another great match up. I swirled the brush for about 10 seconds and had more than enough great soap loaded for a 3-pass shave. The BdF lathers like a champ and has a fresh, clean scent. I had an excellent close, smooth, nick free shave. I finished up with Speick (still one the best AS’s out there…IMHO). A Happy & Blessed Easter to all of my fellow Christians! Bob
6/8 Case PPF Amber homemade boar Nice shave. The relofted Semogue performed very well. I really like the scent of PPF's Amber. Have a Happy Easter.
Easter Sunday: Prep: Hot Shower, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Cream: Godrej Lemon Fresh Razor: FaTip Piccolo Blade: Bolzano (4) Passes: WTG, XTG (8, 9) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash Sheer laziness kept me from shaving yesterday, but I got back at it today. An almond-sized dollop of the Godrej produced enough meringue-like lather that 3 passes would have been a snap, but unfortunately the Bolzano started showing its age halfway through the XTG pass, so I settled for a 2-pass, DFS shave.
Superb Easter Shave Tabac just never let's me down. I got great thick lather, a nice smooth irritation and weeper free shave from my SC101. Krampert's Bay Rum pairs nicely.
