Easter Sunday: hot shower Homemade PSO Robeson straight 2 passes StickSchick 1+ passes Personna Platinum Chrome (6) VDH Deluxe boar Gold Dachs Classic soap in a warm mug Thayers unscented w/aloe Sante Homme AS Keeping with my routine of using a straight razor once a week I pulled out the Robeson this morning and much to my delight shaved with greater confidence than all previous straight razor shaves. That being said I'll probably lop off the end of my nose next weekend. Regardless, it seemed that I'm finally getting somewhat tuned in to the razors and movements and things are slowly beginning to come more naturally and that includes not just the shave but using the strop as well. Gold Dachs. This is an excellent soap. Nuff said but I'll keep talking anyways. This is the second puck I've purchased, the first being the Macho scent which has now been discontinued. The Classic scent is exactly that and delivers a perfect lather with ease. To quote RaZorBurn123, "Go out and get it". Picked up the Sante Homme on clearance and really like the gentle scent and so does SWMBO. It's a tree-huggers dream; bio-aloe, BDIH and NaTrue certified, vegan, gluton-free, lactose-free, caffeine-free, no artificial colors or preservatives, doesn't smoke, drink or chew, certifiably organic and not tested on range free chickens. Wasn't sure if it would work at all since the description was more about what it isn't rather than what it is but I'm glad I picked up a bottle and it will continue to be in the rotation.
Saturday and Sunday Prep: soaked brush, washed face with CeraVe cleanser Soap: HTGAM Synergy unscented Brush: Oscar11 with Omega boar knot Razor: iKon ShaveCraft Blade: Astra SP After: Cold rinse, CeraVe Same setup both days, excellent comfortable shave each time. The boar brush made abundant lather from the HTGAM soap, and the combination of the ShaveCraft and Astra worked well.
Thanks, Guy & Bruce. Bruce, all this razor required was a little 'sprucing up ' of the blade (minor scratching and a few shallow pits); the scales were already in tip-top form & needed only a good polishing—which made my 'restore' job on this one significantly easier.

The CF Lime produced an overflowing bowl full of creamy lather from just a pea sized snurdle, and the scent was wonderful. I also love the clean freshness of a Speick finish. I could be happy if this was my only aftershave... but it's not
