    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Lucky Tiger Menthol ASB
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

Going back to the 41c and Bic combo just feels so easy and comfortable after needing to pay very close attention with the FaTip/Bolzano combination. Three effortless passes, a tiny weeper in my mustache line from the ATG pass, and my face feels as smooth as it was when I was a teen. Frosty, BBS results.

At the end of my shave this morning, I took my Face Cloth and soaked it in cold water, from the refrigerator. Before I put my on my After shave Balm and my After Shave I wiped my face down. It felt great. Let the After Shave Balm dry. Then I applied my Cat of Nine Tails After Shave. Another great awakening. Almost forgot while I was shaving this morning I was listening to Radio Classics on Sirius/XM Radio......The Life of Riley.

    Prep: hot towel
Razor: George Wostenholm & Son Celebrated I-XL and Aristocrat TTO Open Comb
    Blade: Klenzo (day 1)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Proraso Green
    Passes: 2(WTG, XTG)
    Post: alum
Today might have been a good day to not shave... A small nick from the straight and a few more from the DE on there own might have been OK for a DFS, but the general unpleasantness from the DE was too much. I'm not sure if it was the Klenzo blade or bad prep and the Aristocrat, but I don't want a repeat. I've moved the Klenzo over to my milder Tech for tomorrows shave.

Monday morning shave...I was in a hurry so...

    Tech head on Clix handle
    new Lord super stainless blade
    King of Shaves menthol gel

    Still BBS, 14 hours later

    Avon Island Lime a/s

After the other day's carbon SE shave, I had to check to make sure I put a blade in the Tech, it was so smooth. I'm really starting to like the Lord family of blades.

    Hot Shower
    Prep: Homemade PSO (peppermint).
    Brush: Simpson Duke 3.
    Soap: Stirling Frozen Tundra.
Razor: Pre-war, black fat handled, gold Tech.
    Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Black (2)
    Post: Nivea Sensitive PSB
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Face freezing shave today that felt great! I need to get more of the mentholated Stirling soaps. I have a full puck of MITA and this sample of Frozen Tundra. They are both excellent performers, but I'm sure that I'll be looking for that icy feel often in the upcoming summer months to relieve the searing Arizona heat.

My first shave with the pre-war gold Tech. It is definitely more aggressive than my '56 ball end model, but I like that. It provided a very close, comfortable shave today, so it earned a place in my rotation for the time being.

No picture today, but here's my shave.

Prep: hot shower, Neutrogena Face Wash.
    Brush: Turkish #6.
    Razor: Schick Krona.
    Blade: Polsiver SI.
    Cream: Egyptian Ingram.
    Post: cold water rinse.

I had a DFS shave tonight. The Ingram felt icy just like it always does. I was starving. I hurried up and shaved; then rinsed my face and ate. Halfway through my dinner, I realized that I didn't put on any aftershave. The only thing I noticed was I didn't have that extra face freezing, but my face still felt well moisturized and smooth. No irritation either. I won't make a habit of this, but I guess I can live without aftershave given the situation. But what fun is that?

I feel you buddy - me too, it's hard for me to skip a nice menthol aftershave after shaving with something so cold. :)

    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Soap: Van Der Ginger's frankensoap
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (4, 5)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB
Cologne: The Third Man by Caron

Yesterday's shave was so close that two passes almost felt like overkill. Two passes were all that I needed to get close to BBS this AM, though I suspect the 5-o'clock shadow (such as it is) will be more pronounced without that final pass. I skipped the alum to give my skin another day to really absorb the hydration from the soap and ASB, now that we're finally out of the cold winter winds. *knock wood*

What can I say - these new Glacial soaps have me addicted now. This Spearmint-scented version has such a lovely scent which fills the bathroom while you're lathering up and within seconds my face felt like it was on fire from the freezing. These soaps have the BEST menthol cooling bar none, as well as top skincare. The 444/Floid Classic combination contributed lots of extra cooling. A magnificent shave this morning. ;) :D

    Tuesday:
hot shower w/ Musgo Real Lime Basil bar soap
    Homemade PSO
Gillette Fat Handle Tech 3 passes
    Astra SP (4)
    VDH badger
TOBS Avocado cream in a warm mug
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Pinaud Lime Sec cologne

DIY Week - Homemade PSO today and a little trick I learned on this forum to help a floppy brush. I bought a VDH badger at a local Walgreens when they had them 50% off but it doesn't have any backbone so I use a doubled up rubber band at the base of the knot to stiffen it up a bit.

    Dickinson's WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

It was another great shave today. The VDH luxury shaving soap face lathered well with my Semogue 1305 boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the EJ89 and Astra Superior Platinum blade left me with a close comfortable shave. I am loving the Utopia handle. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Dickinson's WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    TUESDAY
    Shea Butter Back-to-Work Day

Early morning shave (4:00am); but a smooth one using all Institut Karite (shea butter) products.
Another easy & close shave with the Clauss—with fewer and fewer rough patches remaining with each straight razor shave.
I may actually be getting the hang of using these big ol' naked blades:) A little better each time…

    Have a great ToozDay, all!
