You are in for a treat!
I have been going scuttle-less the past week or so (face-lathering), and I must admit—I MISS MY WARM LATHER!

For me the best performer with very hot water is QCS cream. I use a tea kettle to heat my water and find the QCS does boy break down and I can enjoy nice hot lather.

I am sure most people here know the brush you used. :)
What size is it? I just purchased a travel scuttle, still being shipped, would like to know if my #6 horse hair brush will fit.

The brush in the initial photos is a Semogue 830— Total Height: 100mm, Loft: 55mm, Knot Diameter: 23mm
The larger Omega boars would be a bit large for the smaller scuttle, but most brushes, including your #6, (which is comparable to the 830 in loft) should fit just fine.

I really like the smaller scuttle, I have a G12 which is pretty big. Beautiful color.

Thanks.. I have a beard don't need a lot of lather so the little guy should work well.

    What I purchased....

Robert Becker made a scuttle and a caddy for me. I can attest to the quality of his work. Enjoy it!

When I ordered these two scuttles last June, Robert had a few more options available. He has since scaled back a bit on some of his offerings (fewer models, no more lids), but I am certain his quality of craftsmanship is unchanged.

Didn't it come with a stopper for the inside basin? Mine (a larger Becker) came with a plastic stopper but it was hard for me to pull out with wet hands. I found that a wine cork fits perfectly and is easy to manipulate. Maybe that would help hold in the heat, unless the spout is a different size from mine.

No stopper on the small 'travel' scuttle; only on the larger models.
I could see how a wine cork would make a nice alternative for the soft rubber stopper pictured below.
