Welcome home Kevin! After seeing your post this morning with the R41 on that knurled handle, I have decided to move my R41 (2011) from the slippery white Muhle handle to a T2 for better gripping ability. The agressiveness of the R41 doesn't bother me at all, it's the slipperyness of that %&@* handle that drives me crazy. (You need to have good control when using the R41) I like the heft of the R41/T2 combo and it provides the stability that is needed to keep the head aligned for a good controlled pass. (Nothing worst than the head spinning around with the blade exposure of the R41!)
Have you noticed an improvement in handling with the different handle? :think002:

Thanks, Bruce! Yes, I have noticed a difference in the shave since I've moved two of the R41s (2011 & 2013) from the standard Mühles to heavier, more knurled handles. I prefer the 'feel' of a heavier handle, and the better grip provided by the prominent knurling gives me additional confidence when shaving. This confidence leads to better control of the blade head, and thus allows me to not be so dainty with the R41. I do not dislike the stock Mühle handles; I simply prefer these alternatives. Both of which make the R41 feel much more like the Barbasol FH razor.

Thanks Kevin. That was what I thought because I notice you had changed handles and a number of others had as well. Actually, the R41 Tooth Comb (2011) version looks pretty nice with the T2 handle so, I'm happy. That being the case, I have reconfigured my R102 White Tooth Comb handle with a 2010 Muhle open comb and now have a R102 (2010) Open Comb version. My Muhle 2010 R41 has been reconfigured with a Muhle R89 Closed Comb head to serve as a Muhle 2010 R89 razor. Shows what happens when a guy has too much time on his hands! :D

    Saturn's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Cream: Speick
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS splash

Late shave today, so I doubt I'll be posting one tomorrow. I don't typically lather creams with my Best Badger brush, so I was surprised at the thicker, denser lather it produced with the Speick, relative to the way the boars lather up. The new Bic was noticeably sharper than the just-discarded one, but I got a DFS, nick-free, weeper-free shave with no irritation.

I like a heavy knurled handle as well, but use the Weber Bulldog as I prefer a shorter handle. @stingraysrock uses his on a T2 handle normally as well.

I'm with you Dale; I like the shorter heavy handles as well. I thought I remembered someone using the T2; didn't realize it was stringraysrock.

Great shave after one crazy week. Best tools only:
    Torrey razor from Danny (Dslazar9)
    Big Boar Brush from PanChango
    Tabac stick from crackstar
Torrey can be wicked sharp! It has been my favorite razor for a while, and is still in my Top 3 of my rotation. Very smooth shave! A bit from BBS, really...

    Prep: hot towel
Razor: G. Wostenholm & Son CANAUK
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Arko
Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG) + touch up
    Post: Dove Men hydrate+
Nothing but a straight razor today. 75 laps on the strop, followed by 2 passes plus touch ups on the face, and 1 pass + touch ups on the neck.
The right side of my face is border line BBS, the left side is DFS and my neck is a almost DFS. More importantly not nicks, weepers or cuts. Some minor irritation but as I push myself with the straight and improve my technique that should go away. My prep was also pretty weak today.
I also decided that it was time to trim the hair on my chin. I had been letting it grow out with the 'stach, but was not happy with it. My decision to trim it had nothing to do with my sister saying I looked like Col. Sanders before his hair went white!

    Razor: Schick Krona.
    Blade: Personna Med Prep.
    Cream: Egyptian Ingram.
Post: cold water rinse, Alcolado Glacial.

I am not feeling the badger brush. I like using a boar brush more. It's better for me to use boar because I'm a face latherer. The Ingram felt awesome and gave me a good shave. And the Alcolado Glacial finished everything off really well. You need menthol here in Texas.

Nice to see you Dmitry. I hope everything is going well.

If that is a silver metal handled boar brush, it is a Koh-I-Noor Professional.
