I just bought one of these at cvs for $20.00. I have tried different angles and can't get a smooth shave. The blades are made in Vietnam. Am i doing something wrong or is it the razor or blades.
Never heard of any blades from Vietnam before. I suppose they must have their share. There could be a million and a half reasons for your wanting results, but I would start with the blade variable first..not saying the blades are bad, they just might not suit your situation..happy shaving..
I sort of thought they might be. Those are a decent blade..not for everybody, but all right. I tried some myself and liked them. So maybe you can give us some of your shaving background and set up...
Also many new d/e users aren't aware that using a d/e is all about whisker reduction, so multiple passes are usually needed to get a dfs shave.
Have you watched your shaving videos and are you proficient with lather production? And if you're also new to the lathering arts, you might want to refine your lathering tecniques before undertaking the DE... https://www.youtube.com/user/mantic59
Don't use any pressure. The weight of the razor is enough. Mantic's videos are great. Keep it up, with practice you'll have it down in no time.
Also be sure to take a look at our Shave School Master Sticky, lots of good info and advice to help the new d/e shaver.
Well i purchased some studio 35 blades, a brush, and shave soap. This shave was much better. It was almost as close as my mach 3. With practice i aspect it to be closer. I must say it felt like i went back 30 years in shaving, which i liked. The dorco blades just wouldn't cut. They would snag. As soon i get used to the de razor i will order a sharper blade like feathers. Ps. No blood
Dorco blades don't work for me at all. I'd suggest getting a blade sampler pack from here, Ebay or Amazon so yuou can try out a a lot of different ones. What works for one person doesn't work for someone else, necessarily and all of shaving is a big YMMV.
I plan on ordering a sample pack. The studio razor blade i have now works good on the face but not on my head. I need a sharper blade.
