I've seen GFT Skin food mentioned here and there so I looked into it and noticed its expensive stuff for the amount you get. How long does a 100ml bottle last? Is this a really good Aftershave? How long does the scent linger?

Only way to know is to try it. I asked the same question when I was an "Active Member." I asked if expensive (more than Arko anyways) shaving soaps were worth it. I found in terms of performance some where a let down at any price point. Some had nicer scents than Arko and others had excellent post shave feel. I have an order of a sample of the very pricey MdC. Since no soap I've used yet has the performance of Arko, the beard softening of Proraso, the scent of Synergy, and the post shave feel of 3p, if a soap happens to come along that has all those qualities I would pay that crazy MdC price. Ultimately only you can judge if GFT is worth that price.

I forget where, but if you look around you can find trumpers skin food samples. you have to pay for the sample but it's not much.

    Maybe try Garry's Sample Shop.
I haven't tried it myself so I can't share an opinion of it.

I've never tried it, as I am more put off by the cheesy moniker of 'Skin Food' more than the actual price. ;)

I have it, in Sandalwood scent and I'm not crazy about it. The scent is nice but I didn't find the performance to make any change and in my opinion it is too expensive. I won't buy it again.

I love the skin food, although I agree the name seems a bit dumb but it really is great stuff. I used some samples and I don't really like the coral skin food, it smells a bit flowery for me. I like the limes as it really gives you some help waking up on those sleepy mornings, very refreshing. I have actually bought the sandalwood skin food, I do notice the difference in my shave if I don't use it, the blade moves across the face better when i use it as a pre shave.and it feels nice on the skin after the shave too.

I have it and like it. As far as usage, all it takes is a very small drop on wet skin to work. Some people also use it as a preshave lubricant. I have the Sandalwood and enjoy the scent, but am dissapointed the scent doesn't last very long. Hope this helps!

i received two samples from Trumpers in the mail a month back. I had coral and limes. I have to admit that I'm a fan and use it as a post shave. the scent does fade quick, but i like the fact that it helps with my sensitive skin, and it doesnt leave a residue or oily feeling on my face. I would recommend buying a sample. Im on the lookout to buy if any of the guys on here want to sell their bottle.

I've tried it (via a sample) and didn't care for it. IMHO, not worth the price. Products just as good and better can be found for way less at your local drug store.

I love GFT Skin Food. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and moisturized and tightens my skin. Very soothing.

Excellent stuff, I am about half way through a bottle of coral now. Last summer I used their Sandalwood. Both smell excellent. I wouldn't say it is a typical sandalwood scent, but it smells great.

Tend Skin is a bit pricey, but useful. Do not use, however, if you have an asprin sensitivity.

you can also make your own for way less by just dissolving an asprin or two in witch hazel.

ask and you shall receive: http://www.tendskin.com/

(note that better pricing can be had with some google-ing)

Basically, it's a mild salisylic acid (asprin precursor) solution that exfoliates the skin so that in-growns and razor bumps are less liiely to occur. It can also solve current razor bumps by the same mechanism.

    Happy to help.

I used it for a short time, but found it unnecessarily expensive. So, I made my own (witch hazel + asprin). They both worked equally well. In time, once my skin got used to DE shaving and my technique improved, I found that I needed neither and now use nothing.
