I received a red and white boar Made Rite brush from another shaver and decided to try a restore. I had already removed the knot from grandpa's old Made Rite boar and used it in making my Mexican Wee Scott. Well I got them all cleaned up and ordered some knots from TGN. I got a three band synthetic for the red and white and a new boar for grandpa's brush.

My friend didn't like the red and white. He said it reminded him of Legos.

The knots arrived today, and I had fun fitting them and gluing them in place.

I am looking forward to trying out these two brushes. Now I have a synthetic, and Grandpa's brush has been updated with a new boar knot.

You know what is happening don't you ... the Invasion of the Brush Restorers!

Cheap rip off of the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" but you get the point. You have been assimilated!

    Enjoy your new brushes!

I used the needle nose pliers method. Then I used a dremmil to clean them up.

sod140603.png I had my first shave with the synthetic. It was ok. Nothing to brag about. It is a little skritchy, and it takes more effort to lather, but it gets the job done.

Timelord I get 12 times the shaves out my blades!

I wonder what Grandpa would say if he could see his brush? I'm betting he'd be proud. Those are two VERY nice looking brushes. :happy088:

Thanks. I think I'm going to like the boar brush. I did two test lathers with it today using some VDH Deluxe. I bowl lathered each time and got tons of great lather. I am going to use it for tomorrow's shave.
