Summer weather is finally here in Montreal, so out comes the heavy artillery for Menthol Monday: Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/new Sharp Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill SS 444 AS Balm Osage Rub AS Aramis EdT Damn, I keep saying this almost day after day but for a Menthol Monday shave nothing could possibly beat a set-up which includes a Glacial soap. The Lemon Chill smells so nice and invigorating with tons of awesome lather and the menthol effect is so strong that it's almost painful. The 444 balm together with the Rubby Dubby Doo is altogether like Siberia in January!
Noxzema Classic Clean Cella Crema da Barba Made Rite w/TGN Synthetic Gillette Fatboy F2 Derby Extra (3) CWR Thayers Cucumber WH Pinaud Clubman AS On June 12, I switched over to Noxzema Classic Clean as part of my face prep. It is working very well. The Cella SC bowl lathered very well with my Made Rite synthetic brush. I did two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Fatboy and Derby Extra that left me with a close, comfortable shave. After the cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... I had a happy Fathers Day. I got a couple of gift cards from Amazon from two of my sons, so I ordered my first Mitchells Wool Fat. I am looking forward to getting that.
Zero Four Thirty comes far too early for my taste, but taste it I must. So I post my picture the day before.

My wife and I went to an Equestrian Endurance Event, we left home on Thursday and we came home today. I have a three day growth I am really looking forward to shaving. I was going to use my Weber 3pc, SS/DE with the 85 mm Classic Handle, but being as this is my Birthday week I will use my 1951 Gillette W-2 Super Speed DE/TTO {Birth Year Razor}. I was going to pack my shaving kit to take with us, but being as we were "Boondocking" in the RV in the mountains of the East County area of San Diego County, why do that. I am going to put together a second set of Shaving Equipment that will have a permanent home in the RV. I thing I'm going get me a Shaving Mug made out of rubber or plastic. That way if it gets dropped or lost I haven't lost a mug that can't be replaced. So eventually I will have there "Wet Shaving Set's" one for here at the house, one for in my luggage when we travel, and a complete set, Razor, Brush, Mug, Shaving Soap, Pre-Shave Oil and After Shave. Last but not least a belated Happy Father's Day to all of you that resemble that remark!
Menthol Monday It's going to be a hot day today, so I went with my favorite menthol soap: HTGAM Synergy Frost_Byte. This soap is plenty cold and features tea tree oil for extra skin care on top of the kokum butter and other nourishing ingredients. My face stays cold for a good thirty minutes... Longer if I finish with Krampert's Finest a frostbite, as I did today. Everything came together nicely for another great shave. Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol Soap: HTGAM Synergy Frost_Byte Brush: Plisson Synthetic Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101 Blade: Personna Lab Blue AS: Krampert's Finest Frostbite

Only 192 shaving days until Christmas Monday: hot shower w/A La Maison de Provence Rosemary Mint bar soap Somersets Extra Sensitive PSO Gillette Ball End Tech 2 passes SuperMax Super Platinum Tiger (5) VDH badger Treatments Eucalyptus cream (by Hunter Amenities) in a warm mug Thayers unscented w/aloe Brut AS Decided to use some of the Eucalyptus cream that was provided during a hotel stay earlier this year since it looked lonesome on the shelf. It has a nice refreshing scent and lathers easily. My neck was still a little sensitive from yesterday so 2 passes with the Tech was enough and maybe I'll get to shave again tomorrow.

SOTD June 15 Prep: hot shower Razor: George Wostenholm & Son Celebrated I-XL Brush: Vie-Long Soap: Proraso green Passes: 3 (WTG, XTG, ATG) Post: Witch Hazel Another vacation straight razor Monday. I'm not sure what it is about the Proraso green, but I cannot get any menthol effect from this soap. I do get a great lather though. No shave yesterday, but the straight didn't seem to care. I was able to get two passes on both my face and neck, and then opted for a third ATG pass on my face. It wasn't need, but my cheeks are BBS now!
SOTD 6/16 Pre: Maggard razors PSO – Lime Brush: VDH Boar Soap: Maggard Razors Lime & Bergamot Razor: Frankentech (Muhle Handle) Blade: Derby Stainless Splash: Shea Moisture Shave Tea Tree Herbal AS Elixir Post: Azzarro Chrome AS balm After: Pinaud Clubman Classic After Shave Lotion Happy Fathers Day to my fellow Dads out there shaving! I didn’t do a SOTD on Fathers Day because my daughter insisted I stay off the computer LOL We had a great day. Love my kid. At first I thought I had made a mistake grabbing the Derby Blade. It seemed way too mild for the Tech head. Consequently I up ended shaving a tad more aggressively than I usually would, and was rewarded with a couple weepers. Nothing major. I think the Derby would be a better fit in a slightly more aggressive razor like my M3. I think the Maggard Lime & Bergamot is my favorite lime scent so far. Definitely on my “to buy” list. LOVE the Pinaud scent! Stop by That Shave Life!

MONDAY Early Start to a Busy Menthol Monday A comfy 3-pass shave this morning with the Griffon. Ended it with the chilling menthol blast of the 444 balm. Normally my day off, but today is the first day of Vacation Bible School (VBS) and we're anticipating nearly 700 kids, volunteers and teachers descending upon our campus. Five days of classes, activities, food and fun. It should be a great (but exhausting) week! Have a great Monday, everyone!
