I keep coming back to it too. I ground up the balance of a stick and mashed it into a bowl. It may be top performer now, over several very good soaps! For the price it is a gem!

Wednesday: hot shower w/HTGAM Cavendish bar soap ShaveSecret PSO Gillette FatBoy (9) 3 passes Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum Blue (3) VDH Deluxe boar HTGAM Cavendish soap (face lathered) Dollar Store gel Thayers unscented w/aloe HTGAM Cavendish AS lotion My face felt a little sluggish this morning for some reason so the razor didn't want to glide very well. I've noticed this on a few other occasions and I'm not sure what causes it. It's been pretty humid the last couple of days so I'm wondering if that may be the cause since we don't have air conditioning. Either that or the pizza I had for dinner last night. Anyhow, I pulled out my tube of Dollar Store superglide gel that's extra slickery for the third pass and that seemed to help. The pluses of the gel are it's slickness and it goes on clear so you can see exactly what you're shaving but the negative is that it doesn't have much cushion. I should probably try mixing it sometime with other creams or soaps to see what happens.
Wednesday 6/25/14 Prep: Gaia face scrub Oil: Shave Secret Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep Razor: slim adjustable set to 4 Blade: Feather soap: Pre de Provence Post: Alum sprayed on Witch Hazel: Generic rose scented AS: Sampsons all natural Another very nice shave today. There seems to be something about my face that reacts kindly to French soaps. Or, maybe, they are just great soaps. Both Pre de Provence and Provence Sante have been giving me the best shaves I have ever had.
SOTD June 25 Prep: hot shower Razor: Aristocrat Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum (day 2) Brush: Vie-Long Cream: Arko Extra Sensitive Passes: 3 (WTG, XTG, (ATG Face only)) Post: Witch Hazel, Arko Extra Sensitive Same setup as yesterday's shave, but the results were not. This shave was typical of what I've come to expect from the Aristocrat, lost of tugging and irritation. I fought through it though. I did have to adjust the blade angle a few times to avoid major tugging, and I did get at least one nick on my neck There was some nice sting from the witch hazel too. I wasn't expect that... I did manage to address that one patch I had yesterday and am calling this BBS! I'll have to wait until tomorrows shave to see if it was worth it.
Have a great time at the concert! I've seen Pearl Jam before, GREAT show! How about the Scorpions? Love them!

Essential Oils — "Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. In addition to giving plants their distinctive smells, essential oils provide plants with protection against predators and disease and play a role in plant pollination. Essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Modern scientific study and trends toward more holistic approaches to wellness are driving a revival and new discovery of essential oil health applications." (source: doTERRA)

WEDNESDAY A Surprise Day Off! Since staff was so busy last week with VBS, the powers in charge granted a day off today for the entire staff. So this morning's shave was a leisurely-paced one. Three cozy passes with my professionally-honed frame back and I was good to go! Now I have to plan today's agenda……. Have a blessed day, all!
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory Today's shave was not a very good one. My Plisson made excellent lather from the delicious chocolate bourbon synergy soap, and my SC101 ate it up smoothly, but I could not leave well enough alone. I went for some buffing on my neck and now I'm paying for it with irritation and a few weepers. I set out to do two passes there, and I stupidly went for a smoother finish. Live and learn. The Platinum punished my foolishness with its alcohol sting, and I added Synergy Frost_Byte lotion to help put out the fire. Prep: warm shower, RR/HTGAM lime menthol Soap: HTGAM Synergy Chocolate Bourbon Brush: Plisson Synthetic Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101 Blade: Personna lab blue AS: Fine Platinum, HTGAM Frost_Byte lotion
