  3. WEDNESDAY*
    *(An Evening Preemptive Shave)

An early start tomorrow (4:00am), so I decided to save a little time in the morn by shaving the previous eve.
I am really enjoying this vintage Herskovitz 6/8 since I set a new bevel edge & gave it a decent honing. It is a completely different shaver than it was previously (before there was much tugging, anguish, gnashing of teeth)
Very smooth and it slices through whiskers as a good blade should. I do have to be mindful of the square point as not many of my razors have it. This one does, and it will get ya' if you're not paying attention. :shocked002:

    Have a blessed Wednesday, all!

Here's a cream which I haven't used in some time - the Ingram Green from Egypt has a crazy-rich lather which is so easy to work with and the same nice scent as the British version. The menthol effect is MUCH stronger, however and the skincare is pretty good as well. The Lubriderm moisturizer is great stuff for sensitive skin, and the Penguin is enough to make your teeth chatter. What an awesome and effortless shave this morning. ;) :D

  7. Wednesday

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Scots Pine Bath Soap
    Soap: Palmolive Stick
    Razor: Gillette Slim [6]
    Blade: Viking’s Sword (5)
    Brush: oscar11 TGN 2-Band Finest 24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: Proraso Green

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

I used my Palmolive stick today. Wet the tip before my shower, rub it on my damp face and poof…enough lather for 3+ passes. I have used all 3 of my sticks recently. They have been neglected. The Slim and Viking’s Sword gave an excellent 5th shave together: smooth, close, and nick free.
I finished up with a bit of menthol using my Proraso Green.

  8. I had an extremely close shave yesterday so it isn't worth the effort to shave this morning. I could probably use one early this afternoon. This is starting to be the norm for me. I'm getting very close comfortable shaves that make daily shaving almost unnecessary. Have a good one.
  9. Day three of American Made Products

    Razor - Standard Razor
    Blade - Personna Med Prep
    Brush - WSP Monarch

  11. Superb Shave
The second day with Maggard Fougère and Synergy Bay Rum Tonic, and both were superb. The HIS made piles of slick lather in about 15 seconds of loading, and the SC101 smoothly mowed down my stubble. I was expecting an alum burn like I had yesterday, but there was none, though the tonic did make my face a little red for a few seconds. The menthol kick is stronger than Fine Platinum, and very nearly as cold as Krampert's Frostbite. The dry down is amazing- my face feels fantastic!

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: Maggard Fougère
    Brush: HIS lather monster
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Personna lab blue (3)

    Post: Witch Hazel

After missing yesterday's shave to to laziness, the BIC had quite the challenge today. I'm really, really liking this blade! Q easy DFS after two passes, with next to no irritation. I did have a couple stubborn patches that fell to blade buffing.

Traveling with my First Mastro Livi

This is my very first Mastro Livi straight razor, the one which started my passion for his razors, his art and talent. It also gave me the chance to know a remarkable and genuine man. I bought this razor in April 2013 and it is still shaving like the first time. I have never honed it or used any chromium oxide, I just stropped it on a Mastro Livi loom strop and hand palm. In this sense, I strictly followed Mastro Livi's advices. The edge is still very keen and sharp: after all of this time, this magnificent straight razor still passes HHT with no effort and gives a superb, impeccable shave. Amazing!
    • Pre-shave: Proraso Green Pre-Shave Cream
    • Soap: Aquagena Shaving Soap
    • Brush: Omega Bristle Brush 83
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm Stropping
    • Razor: Mastro Livi Damasteel, 7/8 Full Hollow, Mastro Livi Snake Point
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extravirgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: Floïd Blue After Shave

Sorry to hear this. Hope that her health comes back around to her soon. It's bad enough when you and I are ill, but it's even worse when it's a small child. She is in our prayers.(my wife and I)
