6/8 Wacker Inox Prep SS unknown synthetic knot in an old leadwood handle I made a long time ago This might be an old HIS knot when they went to the smaller sizes but I'm not positive. It doesn't have a glue bump in the knot and I remember being very disappointed in the performance of the smaller HIS brushes. I was looking for a old Vie Long boar when I came across this one and just stuck it in the first reject handle I found and shaved with it. I wasn't disappointed with it this morning. I measured the knot post shave and it was sub 50mm for loft. I'm hoping to get a little shop time this weekend but the phone hasn't stopped ringing since 6:30 this morning. Have a good one.

Brush: Rooney Heritage Stubby 3 Cream: Classic Shaving Bay Rum, bowl lathered Razor: pop's Schick Krona Blade: vintage Schick Plus Platinum First time using the Classic Shaving brand cream and I must say, for a soap guy, I was very happy with it. Thick, creamy, good cushion and slickness. Dad's razor always up's the shave a grade or two.
In honor of our forefathers' tremendous sacrifices to birth this great nation, I respect your attempt, Bruce, to sympathetically replicate those incredible hardships they endured by your using these two products.
I have not been scrimping on it and I have had lots of left over lather after 3 and 4 pass shaves. It is obvious that a jar will last a LONG time. My guess is that a sample is not nearly as efficient as using a brush on a jar. I always seem to have a little left on the inside of the scuttle when I rinse out after using a sample.

Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion Razor: Erik Anton Berg Straight, EJ DE89 Head w/ Weber Classic Handle Blade: Voskhod (3) Lather: Arko Stick Brush: Oscar11 w/ Omega 20248 Knot Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion Aftershave: Brut I had my first ever straight razor shave today...kind of. Taking advice of others, I made one pass on each of my cheeks with the straight. There was no blood letting, so I'm call it a success. I finished with DE and wound up with a terrific shave. Have a great Independence Day!
I'm a devoted user of the Classic Brand Shave Soaps and I was wondering if the Creams performance were equal. Sounds like you have answered my question Mouser, thanks!
Congrats Scott! You have broken the ice and can build up to a full shave as you develop your straight technique. Well done!
This was my American shave... happy birthday America! The Palmolive Lather cream is from the 50's and is completely different from the Palmolive that is made today. This has a fresh clean smell to it, even after all these years. It's not bad, but I have better stuff to use. It had cushion, but lacked slickness. DFS today.

Cheap Soap Month Noxzema Classic Clean Proraso Green Shaving Soap VDH Natural Boar Schick M Adjustable Schick Injector Stainless Blade CWR Thayers Cucumber WH Aqua Velva Ice Blue The Proraso Green was a refreshing choice today. Face lathered with the VDH Natural Boar brush. Two passes with the Schick M Adjustable is all it took for a close, comfortable shave. A cold water rinse followed by Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave left me clean, smooth, and refreshed...
I sort of have agree, Looks like a good brush to me! They say I have too much "Blood in my Caffeine System" Maybe that's why I think it's a good looking brush.
Just an interesting fact... back in those days, eagles represented tyranny. The turkey at was a bird only found in America. Maybe Ben Franklin wasn't as nuts as people think.
