Had to take my laptop in for a quick fix today plus went to church this evening and then out to dinner with some folks I know from church. So this is a late post.

Eveready 1912, my second time using this razor. My neighbor found it at a thrift shop and got it for me last month. This is my favorite SE.

    Planned Shave - 7/13/14

    Lather: Stirling Spice
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061M
    Razor: Gillette New LC
    Blade: Derby Extra
    Post: Old Spice aftershave

This shave turned out very nice. My experience with Stirling soaps is that they work better as a face lathering soap than in a scuttle, mug or bowl, but that just may be my lack of bowl lathering skills.

Prep: hot shower, L'Oréal Face Wash.
    Brush: Turkish #6.
    Razor: Gem G-bar.
    Blade: Gem Stainless.
    Cream: Proraso Blue.
Post: cold water rinse, Barbon AS.

This was a good shave. This G-bar is the real deal. It shaves so smoothly. I got BBS in two passes, with no nicks or irritation. Proraso Blue really does a good job of hydrating the skin and softening stubble. Too bad I am allergic to the Green. The Barbon AS is very cold, has a mild sting, and great skin toning abilities.

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accent Daily Renewal cleanser
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Cream: Speick
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Asco (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

A combination of the nick on my chin and general laziness had me skipping my normal Speick Saturday shave, so I reached for it this AM rather than the RazoRock Cumba Cheech. The lather started out wetter than I usually prefer, so I had to work a bit more with it, ending up with a significant excess of rich lather. This was my first use of the Asco blades I got in a PIF from Sarge; I know our resident Smart Bunny lists them as one of his favorites, so I was interested to see how I liked them. The packaging indicates they're a Lord blade (from Egypt), as are the Big Bens I recently tried for the first time, so I initially thought they might perform similarly. The first thing I noted was a complete lack of any glue/wax dots, which I took as a positive. On drawing blade across skin, I was surprised by the amount of audio feedback I got, which was comparable in my opinion to the feedback from a carbon steel blade. It wasn't the most comfortable blade - slightly tuggy - but there were no nicks or weepers, DFS+ results after two passes, and I admittedly had some trouble with the water-to-cream ratio for my lather. We'll see if the initial use, hopefully coupled with better lather, improves things tomorrow.

This morning I had planned originally to use a menthol cream, but it's very warm and humid here so I felt I needed the extra freezing which only a Glacial soap is capable of giving. The Wintergreen is definitely my favourite of the Glacial line - honestly, I know that some guys are having issues making it lather but the puck I'm using is a pleasure to lather up with, and the menthol clobbers you immediately. Soon, I'm going to need some more Anherb conditioner and it might be a bit tough for me to find it. At least every pharmacy here in Montreal sells Aqua Velva. This shave was very pleasurable as well as very BBS. I promise for tomorrow to use the menthol cream I'd planned to use today! ;) :D

I just got my RR “The Freedberg”. It is scented to match Fine Platinum/Creed Aventus. Ten swirls got me enough great lather for a 3+ pass shave. The scent it terrific! Excellent shave with the SS and Med Prep. I finished up with Fine Platinum.

    Shave Soap: Tiki Seven Seas

This morning shave capped off a solid week of using 7 different Tiki soaps with 7 seas being a custom blend I came up myself using a severely dried and crumbled tin of Land Locked that I had received in a purchase on another forum over the 4th July weekend. Since I had to rehydrate the puck I decided to add Jasmine and two other EO's and a slight doze of menthol to come up with this summer blend. Jasmine/Valencia Orange blends nicely and can detect a light black pepper in the background. How did I come up with the name 7 seas? the EO's come from countries that border one of the 7 seas I was taught in school with exception of the Artic and that is were the menthol crystals come in. This one is a Vegan and I'm not really a vegan person so I might have to see if I can have Amanda whip up this blend in tallow for me. Having the 100mm handle on this slant sure makes quick work of the whiskers and even though day 5 on the Sunrise blade, could have called it a day once again after just one pass. Have a great day gents!

    Cella
    Merkur 39c

    crusella&co rue water
today's shave was nice. I let the Cella soak in a couple drops of hot water during my prep. it helped me lather it better.I hate when I find a little chunk of soap not turned into foam. got a wonderful close shave today, I'm rolling with the good shaves of late. finished with crusella rue water.I think itty smells of liquorice or all spice, which mixed pretty well with the cherry/ almond of the Cella.

First time using B&M Adagio. I won a PIF from @ILove2Shave thank you! I'm not good at describing scents. Adagio is fresh, fruity, floral with just a tad of menthol. It lathered with ease. Super slick and left my face very soft. I'd buy a full puck.
    Go out and get it!
