How to clean my razor properly after shaving?

I use a Gillette Fusion razor and I am happy with it. However, after every shaving, even though I have rinsed every part of the razor with hot water, white marks from the shaving gel appear everywhere on the razor blade and the top of the razor handle (the parts that move up and down when you "shoot out" the blade when replacing it). These white marks appear only when the razor becomes dry and are really hard to remove. Like I said, hot water doesn't help. Can you recommend me a way of cleaning it from the shaving gel? Or is the problem in the shaving gel and I should change it? Will this get the razor completely clogged and unusable with time? Thank you.

In all seriousness OP, it's probably just cosmetic and won't affect your razor.

Let me think back about 20 years ago when I used a Gillette Sensor and it would get grime/soap scum on it, I would scrub it with dish soap and a tooth brush.

All jokes aside what you may want to try is to stop using the shaving gel as it contains a lot of chemicals and move to using one of the fantastic shaving soaps or creams that are available to you that will work great for both your face AND your razor.
It will also wash off easier from that fusion :)

Well he has a DE and soaps, but has said nothing is as good as a Gillette Fusion.

It's been stated in a few of his other post's.

    The gel is probably alkaline.
Try a little acid such as vinegar.
Then rinse thoroughly unless your next meal will be fish and chips.

  9. Its soap scum fro the gel. Use some Dow Scrubbing Bubbles aerosol cleaner and a toothbrush. Shiny and pretty again.

Any other way of cleaning? Also, is there a shaving gel that wouldn't make these white stains appear after the razor is dried? Thank you

No, vinegar and water solution or detergent and toothbrush.

Have you tried some Scrubbing Bubbles? It has been used to clean other types of razors, so maybe it will work on yours. If dirt is embedded, you may also need to use an old toothbrush to get it out.

You'll just have to put up with the gel leaving spots on your razor. There isn't much you can do about chemical reactions or water hardness.

They are cheap. Toss it and get a new one with a "free" cart.
