You may have to trade 2 FB to get a good one. Then there is the cost of the bottle of Patron Tequila to get up the nerve to actually shave with it.
I think it's near impossible to say if something is 'worth the money' - it comes down to SO many factors. To me it's a gorgeous piece of utility-art that probably works as well today as it did over a hundred years ago. It's also rather 'unique' so it's hard to compare it to say a Gillette NEW and say that it's 'worth' spending $20 to get this one. I only paid about $25 for mine (with box, strop handle, original wedge blade, etc) and it's in great condition so to me that price was very much justifiable. As we all know prices goes up and down (well..mostly up) on auction sites as popularity with certain items fade in and out but I'd think one should be able to find one for around $30-40 or so. Will it be my daily shaver? No, but I really like it and will hang on to it for good
The more I think about that razor, the more I think it would be great to take camping due to the whole lather catcher thing.
Stunning razor. I have too much hardware as it is (and I do plan on getting the RR Stealth Slant), so I'll just have to drool at your pics.
What a wonderful beautiful razor, glad to hear it shaves well too. I also think about the previous owners of my vintage razors, who they were, what they were like, using an article of someone's daily history. But my razors only date back to the fifties. Mr Shaverman as someone who is currently camping I can say that a razor catching all the lather would be the perfect razor to use right now Again great looking razor, and nice looking brush too.
In that photo with the blade in it, isn't that one corner of the blade kind of exposed there? The top corner seems protected but the lower corner... Yikes
Might be the angle of the photo but the blade ended up resting very safely on those little 'tabs'. It was, a surprisingly comfortable shave once I had gotten past the fear that I was about to rip my face of
