  3. Just passing by to droooool over all your straights! I really have to get my straight razors honed. Since my Birthday is next September, I guess I can ask the family for some sponsorship to get one or both honed... ;)
  4. I agree you should get those razors honed and join the rest of us. Honing is usually $15 to $20 per razor plus shipping. On badgerandblade you can find people who will hone for free. Glen Mercurio, gssixgun, is the best person to hone that I know.

  5. WOW Jamie, that's as nice a Fili as I think I've ever seen!

  6. You're right of course. I'm hoping my two straights are worthy of honing by Glen and don't end up as paper weights or letter openers...

  7. Thanks Mike came to me as NOS I love the way those big Filarmonicas shave they seem to hold an edge forever.

  15. Steve, I started to ask if you made those scales, but I guess they had to have been made from a mold. Did you color them is the question instead.

  17. Nope, as found. It did needed to be repinned and cleaned up. The scales are the only reason I bought another razor I didn't need. I didn't even go the big " junk fest" yesterday because I thought I might come home with more stuff. I've been enjoying a one razor and one soap concept for awhile. Though not 100% steadfast, I've found my shaves to be boring but excellent. I think it makes a difference with daily shave quality or it could just be poor technique on my part when switching things around.

  18. I started cleaning this up for a fellow that is new to wet shaving
and lives down the road from me a few miles.
    I'm not finished cleaning yet.
I bread-knifed it and rounded the square point for safety.
It now has a very small amount of smile.
I honed it just to try it out.
Pretty it ain't, but the shave was extremely smooth.

  19. Giesen & Forsthoff make great razors. I've only two others posted on forums in the past. Hard to find.
