Monday, August 4, 2014 Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion Razor: EJ DE89 Head w/ Weber Classic Handle Blade: Voskhod (2) Lather: TOBS Jermyn St. Brush: Parker handle w/ TGN Synthetic Knot Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion Aftershave: Old Spice I got about as close a shave as you can get and still have skin left on your face. I still haven't learned the technique for creating lather with this synthetic knot, though. I may just sit it back on the shelf and let it look pretty. Have a great day!
mehr Tabac, bitte, immer ein Klassiker Rasur Any day is a great day for Tabac! My Rubberset 400 easily whipped up plenty of perfect lather, as always. Tabac has never let me down. My New easily defeated my stubble, leaving my face feeling smooth and happy with no irritation at all. Synergy Bay Rum Tonic provided a nice cooling effect, and mixes well with my Tabac soap and cologne. Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol Soap: Tabac! SOTD August 4 - Straight Razor-a-thon Prep: hot shower, Proraso white preshave Razor: G. Wostenholm and Son CANUCK Brush: Vie-Long Soap: Margaritas in the Arctic Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG) Post: Witch haze, Arko Ice Mint I switch out the soap and aftershave for Menthol Monday, but otherwise the same shave as yesterday. This was the worst lather I've gotten from the MITA. I'm not sure what the problem was but the later just didn't want to "build up" It was still very slick and made my eyes tear up a little, not the best this when using a straight... I did have to deal with some skipping of the blade as well. This razor will need to see a set of hones sooner then I'd like i fear. All in all a more consistent shave then yesterday and still some where between SAS and DFS.
Monday Prep: wash with CeraVe cleanser, soak brush Soap: Dapper Dragon unscented Brush: Bethlehem olive wood, TGN F2 knot Razor: iKon ShaveCraft Blade: Super Iridium After: Cold rinse, CeraVe Comfortable shave for a Monday morning.
MONDAY Day Off from Work Since I had a late evening shave last night, I really didn't NEED to shave this morning—plus its my day off. Despite all the reasons NOT to shave I, of course, did so anyways. I chose my mildest razor—the gold Tech—and had a pleasant two pass shave (WTG, XTG), and called it a day. Sometimes these daily habits are tough to break—especially if they're enjoyable! Have a great Monday, all!
This skipping happened quite a bit early on in my SR experiences. I found it due to partly to my developing technique, but more that it was indicative of a poor edge. As my honing ability improved (I was finally able to set a decent bevel, which is critical), I encountered fewer and fewer instances of this happening. It is difficult to get a good, comfortable shave with a not-so-sharp blade, whether it be a SR shave or DE.
Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable U2 (5) Blade: Feather (2) Brush: Chopped Made Rite Finest Badger Lather: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Post: Maggard Razors Alum Aftershave: Barbasol Pacific Rush After me nightmare shave two days ago, this one made me feel better. This Knockoutshave bowl is AMAZING! The Stirling has never been easier to lather, the bowl fits great in my hand, and it's not so deep that the brush clinks (for those who don't like it). I had three passes. On my first pass I nicked a bump that was on my neck from my bad shave, but that was it. After that it was smooth sailing. BBS shave.

That is true, they are awesome. I'm asking because he has a new one for every shave(exaggerating a little bit)
Tried another Carbon Steel blade this morning. Nope. Was like shaving with a broken beer bottle. Switched to a Gem Stainless and life was good again.
Menthol MOnday HOt shower STirling LIme Body soap Cold shave STirling MITA soap Gillette tEch VDH BAdger MITA WHAS DFS! Awesome face freeze. Great day all.
Too many right now. 4 horse, 5 boar and 3 badger. I don't really like a lot of brushes but I do like to experiment. I like all my badgers, 4 of the boars are very good and I'm unsure about the horse brushes at this point.
A bad shave today. I used two things I received as a pif, I have used them before, but not together. I don't know what went wrong but my left cheek was really sore in places, not sure o can shave tomorrow, will have to wait and see. Razor - Super Speed Blade - Gillette Rubie platinum Brush - Wee Scot Soap - Haslinger Aftershave - Nivea Balm The soap is great, easy to lather, slick, post shave feels great and smells nice too. Not too sure what went wrong, just hope the next shave goes better.

I'm pretty sure it's from the edge and I need to send it back to Glen. I've yet to attempt honing yet so don't have to worry about bevel setting for now. I'm just too lazy to send it out...
